Yup, Russell as expected. Goes fully on the brakes to try to get Max to pass him. That sort of baiting is not going to be penalized. That's a can of worms you don't want to open.

Russell is the current GPDA director. Imho this is not the kind of behavior that befits that.

Well, Pat Symonds is TD of F1 and he's by his own admission in the "Road to 50%" presentation ashamed of F1 and internal combustion engines, so go figure.

Well that's a very fair point. Its a extremely poor example to set and goes back to the 2021 Max and Lewis incident in Saudi where Lewis hit the back of Max because he braked to let the position back before the DRS line. That resulted in a 10second penalty.

Not sure what you could possibly get for trying to get another driver a penalty by braking when entering a yellow flag sector whilst the car was alongside. I guess this is the reason that Mercedes haven't (yet) pursued it with the stewards, since it also puts Russell in the wrong.

There's no way to tell how hard any presses the brakes at any point from the telemetry we get

It was a thrilling one, for sure. I saw Max green/yellow and was geeking out for Lando until Max crossed the line...

I thought it has been shown that the light panel was showing a white flag not yellow, so warning of a slow car ahead when Max passed Russel.

It's impossible to distinguish that with the terrible on-board cameras. But the white flags do flash all the time, and it makes sense since there were no yellows on the following two boards and Bottas was parked way up the road.

Russel got a radio message for double waved as he went through turns 3 and 4. The light panel was also flashing. Id estimate there was 10-15seconds from when we first seen the flashing panel in russell on board to passing the physical marshal post on the straight. 2 light boards and a phyiscal marshal post not displaying yellows. Very slow reacting marshalls and 2 boards not illuminated.

Yellow sectors can be deceiving. If you are a thousandth behind your personal best, you get a yellow. It doesn't mean you are on a bad lap.

I'm surprised Max was able to conjure that from S3 because all session their only strong sector was S2 with the high speed.

All weekend they've been a bit inferior to Mclaren and Ferrari in T3 as well. Max has been dropping something like a tenth in that single corner all weekend.

His S3 was very quick, the telemetry was shown here right? Or was that another forum? Only the very pre to last turn a small moment, there Lando was quicker, but that happens on the limit. That was also (funnily enough) the only thing we saw of Max during Q3. They just switched to him in the last corners.
