Is the back of the engine cover different? I don't remember it being nearly so "down firing".
Down firing engine cover is a feature that waterslide pods have... And there's a hint of one on top of the sidepod

Me neither, but perhaps not the best angle to be stunned? Can't really tell what the geometry is doing on top / towards the rear of the undercut and how it forms a ramp

To me it looks like there's a hint of a waterslide and the engine cover might be a lot less tightly hugging than before.
The engine cover looks way different no? Also a hint of some funky geometry starting at the top of the sidepod, but can't really tell.
Yes perhaps the engine cover is very funky indeed
You see that panel gap line at the edge of the pod, that looks new to me.

Comparison. Definitely something going on at the rear.

It looks like the sidepod might even be shorter. Like it inwashes at the back a bit sooner than the old design but that might be due to angle difference of photos. no idea.

Looks pretty similar except for the downwards facing canon outlet. Need some comparison photos though.

Re: Red Bull RB19

No waterslides but downward facing cannon exit & the cooling slot below the sharkfin has been largely removed & the sharkfin has changed shape a lot back to the early RB18 sharkfin shape.

It seems like the sidepod crease runs all the way up to the inlet now. This may be to generate more outwash from the sidepod downstream, to compensate for the changes at the inlet which will affect how the front tyre wake is managed: stagnation pressure under inlet in undercut will move and may need more outwash lower down for instance.

Think the engine cover change opens door for waterslide update later on in the year ?

Looks like they're at the edge of legality with the inlet lower lip: as far forwards as can place sidepod bodywork

It seems like they have gotten rid of undercut they introduced this year and gone back to 2022 style.

Undercut is almost identical and certainly not back to 2022 levels. Before image is canada.

Bigger or similar undercut according to this frontal comparison

I swear Albert Fabrega just puts arrows pointing to anything.

There is definitely been some change to the engine cover region. The small outlet at the rear where the lower leg of the suspension arms connects have moved. Also judging by the bulls feet on the engine cover, the shape of the cannon exit has been altered slightly

Cooling outlets look downwards too now!

Dumb question... all that airflow on the undercut wouldn't generate some lift in the Middle of the chasis?
