As a Merc fan I’m disappointed. We were second quickest so ham really should have been p2. Losing 3 positions at the start completely ruined his race and somehow he was still the first one to pit out of the top 4. Not good. The recovery drive was good but too little too late imo.

Rbr is going to absolutely smash Spa. The perfect season is still on. Unbelievable.
3rd quickest.

Once the fuel burnt off the Mercedes come alive a little more. Dont forget the McLarens were on older tyres too and probably managing that a little bit.

Redbull more dominant than the MP4 4 officially. This car is so quick that 80% of thd grid could win in it. But good job to redbulll.
Checo made the podium look easy.
Stop this downplaying of Max, you always need to do it over and over again.
If not for the Mercs taking each other out from the lead in 2016 Barcelona, one of them would have won and they would have 21 race winning streak.

Leclerc sounds like he is leaving Ferrari. Might be better for both if he does.
Audi?
Who knows! Worth a shot.

Ricciardo won in Malaysia so, no.

Max had to pull a rabbit from the hat here. He really is the best driver we have ever witnessed. Mercedes should have won this race but threw it away.
Mercedes is indeed a great car, RB aside. Russell still managed to end up in front of the Ferraris, which has significantly better drivers!

But our little Mercedes crew are probably a little worried with the huge improvement from Mclaren.

About Max, if you pair the fastest driver in the field(together with Shal) with the best package/car, that´s what you get, records being broken.

Are you 13 years old or born in 2013?

No other way to explain this..

(Had I written something similar about Hamilton I would have been thrown out of the forum probably)

Strange how PIastri was doing well in the opening stint vs Max, but then in the last stint he was 1.5-2.5s slower than Lewis. Don't know if he just gave up, struggled with fitness, had an issue. Strange.

The tire age didn’t justify how much pace Hamilton had over them in that last stint. We were much faster. Even in the second stint on the hards after a bad initial laps ham was catching Mclaren hand over fists and he was on slightly older tires in that stint. Not a great race by ham imo. He should have made sure he extended the first stint more. Was there even an undercut threat? Who cares those positions could be made back.

Yeah, Be interesting to compare to Norris aswell. I wonder if they knew their mediums weren’t going to last after seeing the condition of them pitting early in the first stint.
Maybe it could have been more important to stretch out the hard tyre and what we seen from Mercedes was simply the medium dropping off a cliff as it was predicted to pre-race. The medium on Checo dropped off so I imagine the extended hard stint from Lewis was the key to the last 10 laps performance.

I did not mention driver #33's name. But you have to admit that if you're going to win by almost a minute at Hungaroring in a bone dry race while taking it easy, then 80% of the grid could win.
I do wonder how soon he could lock out the championship if he theoretically wins every race from now on?
For Sure!!

Hungary often brings a somewhat dull race (although there have been some crackers), but today was a pretty good race to watch. Enough going on, different cars with strengths at different times. Yes, Max had a boring drive out front but the stuff behind was enjoyable to watch. Some good fights and there was interest through to the last lap.

Btw, nobody will probably talk about the poor chap but fantastic weekend from Ricciardo, instantly showing that Tsunoda is nothing special and de Vries nowhere near F1 material(his place is on FE)

Why couldn't he qualify on pole in the most dominant car F1 has ever seen? He got outqualified by a car that was 3rd fastest on this track, outqualified by the 3rd fastest car in Baku, beaten by a poor Perez in Baku too

He should have a 100% pole and win rate with the car advantage & talent he has.

So Oscar had some damage. That explains his drop in pace - his bit of grass cutting thanks to Checo did enough to take the edge off his race.
