The answer to this question is ALWAYS yes for Spa.
Based on what? They looked very strong in high speed corners in Silverstone, maybe even stronger than RB. I know Spa is more about efficient downforce vs Silverstone, but it seems the updated Mclaren is not as draggy anymore.
I think it is the first circuit they'll come to with some proper low-speed corners mixed in with the high-speed (which they are arguably the class of the field in now, I agree).
You only need drs during quali lap so why is that an advantage.most team will run a lower downforce package so drs has no meaningful effectWilly wrote: ↑25 Jul 2023, 07:21Red Bull DRS advantage would be back here with a medium downforce wing as has been the case. So no matter how Perez qualifies, he should be on podium.
Aston is going to be far worse with a draggy car. Can't see them anywhere in top 10.
Ferrari should be better than in Hungary and can fight for podium in Sprint race. Not so much for a podium on Sunday.
McLaren would be fighting for podiums in both Sprint and Race.
Mercedes as usual would be there challenging for the podium with McLaren on Sunday. I doubt if they can do better in Sprint.
Williams would shine again in quali trim and potentially in Sprint and should make a good display on Sunday too in the mdifield.
I am expecting Max to be told to throttle it back soon. In fact, he may already have been told but in 'Max style' disregarded the instruction. If it keeps looking obvious that one car (should I say team??) is so far in front of everyone else they will be looking for some reason to clip its wings 'for the show'.Hammerfist wrote: ↑25 Jul 2023, 17:41The gap between Redbull and the next best in qualifying is going to be huge this time. Would not be surprised if it's over one second. If checo doesn't qualify top 2 it would be a really bad job by him. With the long straights and high speed corners this is a Redbull haven.
