Fumes and new options would be my guess as everyone else did more than 3 laps.
Consistent 10th or 12th in FP1 then up to 1st at the dying moments in FP2? ALso Must be fumes. True position looks to be mid-pack.

One caveat .... His KERS failed in FP1, maybe it was working for FP2, but I can't believe it made that much difference?

Kovi is well down the pack too, but I read somewhere that he might be stuck with the old floor and DDD.

he was still mid to low top 10 even when people were sticking softs on and he'd only been doing a very consistent long run on the hards

Haug said he was probably lighter than Vettel but he wasn't on fumes at all.

I see Massa now leads the poll for German GP winner. Tifosibias seems right.

dont say that or you will be branded a conspiracy theorist... as a matter of fact dont bring up any facts like Ferrari's veto or the extra FOM money they get or how teams that challenge them seem to be penalized at a disproportionate rate.

Oh! Hamilton on top for FP2, I hope the car is good [-o< . Ooh.. and Yep I know Vettel was gonna be faster than Webber today. For qualifying though I can't say yet..

It's sort of strange watching the RBR of Vettel pounding around the track and only managing a slower time than the Maclaren Light fueling or not. I hope this continues tomorrow 8)

And whatever you do, don't bring up Ferrari's tremendous success in the years pre-Schunmacher. Remember? [-X

by that do you mean the 16 year drought between 83 & 99 without any type of championship WCC or WDC while Williams & McLAren dominated? FErrari is not the be all end all of F1... they are just 1 team, F1 was great when they werent competitive and it is great when they are... because it is F1. But F1 was better when they didnt have a veto and a large financial advantage over the whole field, and get unearned extra FOM money while other teams are folding.

right time for a stupid question.
If you cant generate heat. why not drive with the brakes on ( not fully on )
during the out lap. it may almost rip your car appart if you do it too harshly.
but seems like a logical way to get heat.

it wont get heat in your tires, it would only --- up your brakes.

To get heat in your tires you need friciton between the track and the tires, this can be done by making turns like you see them doing thst on the warm up lap.
One car reacts heavily on that, and the other dont, it is how tire friendly those cars are built.
