Awful race for lewis, caused by the calamity that is Webber! I can't wait to see if the McLaren can stay competitive though.

It was a great start by HAmilton(he had an even better one in 2007) but it was Hamilton that moved over on Webber ever so slightly that caused Webber's front wing to slice his rear tire. In 2007 it was the dueling BMW's that spun each other and caused a slice into Lou's rear tire that time.

Surely with McLaren now having a competitive car, with a solid KERS system, they will retain it for next year. Today showed its true power: A boost for starts.

I think KERS would only be retained if a KERS car wins and dominates a race. The only cars who have done that have not even tried using it in racing this year

"The new front wing was the first to come out of the CFD department and not the windtunnel dept, and with this one the stopped trying to direct the air to the rear wing but away from the rear of the car"

maybe you guys over in Europe hve access to more info about it from the BBC feed or something

I didn't hear them talk about anything specific such as that (BBC), they mentioned lots of updates but that's it.

Other than brake testing someone if someone hits you from behind it's their fault, Webber drove in to the back of Hamilton and punctured his tyre, he was driving like a prat anyway, just look at what he did to Rubens... oh right yeah... he "didn't see him"

Perhaps the front wing was always going to be for germany, but they managed to get there hungary updates complete in time (floor etc.)? so the wing was on hold so they could get these completed first?

In terms of where they were directing air, perhaps that was where they were going wrong in the first place?

KERS will not be here in 2010 because it is an expensive bit of kit that discriminates against the small teams who can't afford the development costs. The only way I can see it being retained is if it delivers big fuel savings to save weight (remember no refueling) and if Ferrari, McL and BMW sell it to the other teams at cut price. Shame though.

Dont listen to ISLAMATRON he has a pathological hatred towards Ferrari.
And lets all forget Ferrari is the ONLY team who had 2 Podium with KERS....The highest placed KERS car ON MERIT.

HEidfeld has the highest finish in a KERS car with a 2nd place in Malaysia.. once again the tifosi try to distort F1 with their rose colored Ferrari bias.

you will see that the lack of braking at Silverstone(5.61 sec) is much less than Nurburgring(10.71 sec) and therefore the KERS system would not have had ample time to recharge so McMerc decided to take the opportunity to see if taking off the KERS would improve the weight balance of the car to improve some of their handling deficiencies. It obviously didnt work.
