I just discovered Russell wasn't pinged for one track limits violation where he was 100% off, and he was less than 5s ahead of leclerc at the end. Leclerc told ferrari on the cool down to check every russell's lap because he was on a 3 strikes black & white flag already, but I guess they didn't do that.
It's possible he missed timing loop detection completely and got away with it. Silly fia & ferrari for missing this.
lap 46 while lapping lawson
thanks Juzh.
how silly these rules are.
you aren't allowed to drive off the track, but at the same time you are allowed. I mean the regulations basically say, you can violate that three times for free. then get a penalty for fourth violation and violate the rule three more times for free again. at the same times other drivers respect the rule and stay within the track limit all the time.
complete farce ..these rules and I was fully expecting something like that to happen, and decide a victory, podium, whatever one day.
wasn't Piastri pinged for extra track limit violation too? because he was on three strikes as well.
