Up to Oscar to step up, you have to make the most of it, when the other driver has an off one.

Top 4 may be realistic. Top 6 is fine.

Stop defending Lando at all costs. His work this year in the qualy is clearly deficient.
Clearly...

At least in Qatar Norris waited until Q3 to throw away a top 3 start. Engine penalty surely inbound. Hopefully Piastri has improved his deg management since Japan.

At least it's a golden opportunity to take a new PU at no additional cost.

In the meantime Norris is under investigation for failing to reduce enough speed on the ALonso incident along with his huge mistakes.
FIA penalty anyway are a joke...with those reprimants or 5 seconds. With Lando P20 and maybe an engine change..they only can suck a stick.

Mediums did work for Mercedes and Ferrari that we have been more than on par with these past GP’s. So I don’t think it was a mistake to try it.

It was Lando’s mistake on the lap and it was unfortunate with the yellow flags. I do agree Lando is making a lot of errors lately. Piastri is really pushing him.

Right now, just take the engine penalty and it will pay dividends in Brazil and US3. Also, this race ain’t gone for Norris yet. He can move through the field.

Another mistake from Lando in quali.. A clean lap would've been enough - It's Q1

WIth a competitive teammate you see the flaws
I'm, not even sure it is that, he's just not having a great year for Qualy mistakes. You can't argue that Piastri was applying pressure in Q1, Norris just messed up. I've said it a million times and got criticised for it on some of those occasions, but Lando struggles with reaching the peaks consistently.

That said we managed a sensible discussion yesterday without the usual over the top or over sensitive bunch wading in.

Maybe pit lane start and set up for the race with a new engine, gearbox and the works.

The car is fast enough to be close to Verstappen as Piastri's time proved. It was the mistakes of Norris that costed him today.
Vertstappen would be half a second further quicker than his own time if he'd run at the same time as Piastri.
And yet Piastri magically is less than 2 tenths. It's obvious we can't yet match the faster Red Bull but I believe we are close.

Really a bad day to make this type of mistakes. Piastri seems close to VER. Mercedes and Ferrari don't seem a threat.

Norris is making a lot of mistakes in qualifying - maybe he is feeling pressured by Piastri in a way that Ricciardo never did. Or he feels the car is pole/win capable and the pressure is getting to him. Whatever it is, he needs to solve it.

On the upside, at least the team has a clear decision, change engine and pitlane start and let's go through the field.

Norris is in his 5th year? He has no more excuses to make those mistakes if he wants to be champion.

For all we know it is right, but you'd think you'd learn your lesson and keep your mouth shut until the end, cos otherwise you're going to look very silly!

Look I'm not saying that we can match Max Verstappen's Red Bull yet but the car should have enough speed to beat Perez. You can't deny that. 2 Tenths is not a huge difference.
