Also makes sense Re: driving style. Daniel since being at AT has requested for more and more front end according to AT tech director. Perez and Alonso both prefer predictable with understeer or at best neutral balance. 2019- has been a headache in terms of 2nd driver not dealing with RB characteristics with which Daniel flourished previously. Of course Alo can adapt better than almost any driver argubaly, but the pointier RB philosophy pushed in that direction by Verstappen would work well with Daniel
Not to mention that Max and Daniel have as very good history of working well together. Even after the Baku clash, they continued to get along well.organic wrote: ↑01 Nov 2023, 10:20Also makes sense Re: driving style. Riccardo have self trust and mentally problem. Once he will be beaten by Max,he will be become Perez 2.0!djos wrote: ↑01 Nov 2023, 10:24Not to mention that Max and Daniel have as very good history of working well together. Daniel only had problems at McLaren due to the cars inconsistent handling traits. It wasn’t because Norris was faster than him.OnEcRiTiCaL wrote: ↑01 Nov 2023, 13:58Riccardo have self trust and mentally problem. Djos, I do feel Horner wants Daniel back and things have been put in motion.djos wrote: ↑01 Nov 2023, 22:47Daniel only had Pringles at McLaren due to the cars inconsistent handling traits. Heck Daniel beat Checo in Mexico in an inferior car and was within a 1/10th of Max, he’ll fine at RedBull.
It certainly seems that way - I recall Horner being really shocked when Daniel signed for Renault, and he tried everything he could to convince him to stay.Sieper wrote: ↑02 Nov 2023, 00:33Djos, I do feel Horner wants Daniel back and things have been put in motion.djos wrote: ↑01 Nov 2023, 22:47Daniel only had Pringles at McLaren due to the cars inconsistent handling traits. Yes because putting less experienced drivers alongside worked the first.. 2 times it was done. Oh wait, it was a complete disastermendis wrote: ↑02 Nov 2023, 03:18Lawson would be a better bet to replace Perez. Just like McLaren brought in Piastri, Red Bull should put in Lawson and measure him to see how good he can be. He can't be worse than Perez, but if he is somewhere close to Max, then it's job well done. He can only grow from there.
Throwing rookies into the deep end doesn't work out very often, the only 2 I can think of that worked out well are Hamilton and Piastri.mendis wrote: ↑02 Nov 2023, 03:18Lawson would be a better bet to replace Perez. Talent doesn't need to wait for experience. With little over a season, Max won in his first race for RB. Charles was promoted after one year at Sauber. Lando was a rookie and did pretty well at McLaren. When George jumped in for one off race for Mercedes, with over a year at Williams, he almost won the race. There is no reason not to try Lawson. Talented drivers do well when the opportunity arises and if he fails, then they should move on to another driver. There is only one way to find out if he can be a top driver and that is by putting him in the RB20.djos wrote: ↑02 Nov 2023, 03:22Throwing rookies into the deep end doesn't work out very often, the only 2 I can think of that worked out well are Hamilton and Piastri.mendis wrote: ↑02 Nov 2023, 03:18Lawson would be a better bet to replace Perez. Max is still very young and the entire team is build around him now. It will be be a waste of rookie talent to put him behind Max. A talented rookie should ideally be put in a place where he can beat his team-mate with the blessing and support from the team of course.mendis wrote: ↑02 Nov 2023, 04:19Talent doesn't need to wait for experience.
