Always a ceiling. I think RB are near that, so as you say, convergence is most likely. It’s just how close. It might go dominant (22/23) > arms length (24) > pretty much equal (25) > new regulation (26). That’s the kind of thing I’m expecting
This is always a curious statement for me. "Close to or near the ceiling". How does one know it's close to ceiling? Just because a car is leading? How does one know which car concept has more or less potential. Every team has differing car philosophies when it comes to aero and vehicle dynamics concept. So depending upon which team has better understanding of the regulations and their own concept, they are bound to make progress and extract more performance. How long can that happens, also depends on how much the other teams are missing or messing. If Mercedes, Ferrari or McLaren doesn't find the right path and develop better understanding of the regulations than RB and bring better solutions than RB, then they are bound to be chasing for a long time to come, regardless of RB hitting the performance ceiling.
