Imola 2021, yeah, air 10°C, track 17°C. Nürburgring 2020 was equally cold (air 9°C, track 16°C)
They would have both been with the old 13inch wheels

Anybody know if the new 18 inch wheels will they be easier or harder to warm up and if they’ll hold the heat better or worst?
I would imagine that less sidewall flex reduces the ability to generate heat in the tire. It also just generally makes the tire have less grip because the tire is stiffer. More sliding and more case overheating as opposed to tire bulk warming.
But one of the initial ideas of this tire was to use it without blankets. And I hardly see drivers complaining about cold tires in the last season?
I would rather expect that the brakes might be tricky as we saw it in Spa.

Latest forecast is showing around 7 degrees C for the race start. AccuWeather’s forecast literally says “Dress warmly for the race.”

They are still currently using tire blankets. That's why drivers are not complaining.

In the last minutes of Q3 on Friday in Brazil when the track temperature plummeted, many drivers said they were driving on ice.

Looks like there’s a possibility of rain…

If it’s sunny during the day maybe the track temperature will assist by holding up a bit.

I am hearing that the prices for the GA tickets have reduced now compared to about a week ago. Are prices likely to go down further?

F1 may be a turn-off for those visitors to LV due to road closures and the mess and inconvenience created by the F1 circus. Businesses may end up seeing a drop in revenue over the weekend

Everyone is crapping on this race, rightfully so I presume, but I also think it'll be the only race this year where we won't see a Red Bull winning.
So we'll all love it in the end.

In regards to timing, I'm guessing the city argued that late night was the best tradeoff in terms of preventing a full shutdown of the downtown area.

Interested to see how it plays out. Wouldn't be surprised if they move the time earlier in 2024 as they are going to miss East Coast viewers with the late start.

As for the race, Ipeople have already made their judgements before the cars have hit the pavement which is always stupid. I think it has a chance of being very entertaining in a Baku way.

When you find a lot of crashes very entertaining ........ And in Baku it was never <10 degrees Celsius.
I assume you know what the effects are of those temperatures for the cars? Just listen to this:

I don't think so. I think this is a better idea than Miami.

100% better than Miami, it’s a proper event race in the centre of the city, as they should be. Miami is a car park with a fake plastic Marina #-o

I’ve been concerned about track temperature since the time and date were announced. I can believe FOM have watched Indycar Nashville and have been drooling at the carnage… :?
