Vodaphone McLaren Mercedes MP4-24

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I still dont like the concept, it was a pathetic & expensive attempt to green-wash F1!

well as it stands today RBR look like fools to not have taken the 80 hp bump which costs you no fuel(weight)

I'm sure Webber is wishing he had one of those cool do-dads on his car right about now... boo hoo for him.

With next years refueling ban and higher min weight I think KERS will be more inviting than this year.

It was expensive and the fact that Mclaren and Ferrari basically sacrificed the development of the car's aero and chassis for KERS basically ruled them out of this years championship. Almost everyone was laughing at them because from the first few races because it was evident that the extra weight from KERS was more of a disadvantage.

Now that they have developed their chassis and aero, everyone starts whining. This is quite a technological achievement and I think that both Macca and Ferrari have done an awesome job to stick with KERS.

You've got to take your hat off to McLaren, coming back from 2+secs down to be in contention to win, admittedly at slower tracks, is amazing.

By taking some hurt for a few races and not throwing bits on the car at random they have taken a giant step forward over where they were at the start of the season.

Yep and i don't think the KERS has an unfair advantage either, it has only made the races more balanced now. Ferrari and Mclaren still have to deal with the extra weight and cooling issues, they just made the Car complementary to the KERS.
I beleive the next race may be much more difficult with it since the track may not be wide enough to take advantage of the boost when trying to pass.
It will help alot in qualifying in the high speed sections.

Is this the first time Mclaren have had a 2 face car. One that is scorned and glorified at the same time.
This car will definitely be remembered for its ups and downs.
For Sure!!
