Mercedes W15 Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I am no engineer but can you run a pull rod suspension or push rod in both front and rear?
Yes. The last 2 years both pull- and push rod systems were on the grid on both front and rear axles.

Choices between the two depent mainly on packaging and aero, rather than the suspension itself.

Looks like the chickens come home to roost, another dejavu. Not confidence inspiring at all. Merc never had a negative thing to say in the hybrid era but now they just can't stop making noise. Guess is that they stuck with the same suspension layout and still can't get a stable platform and will be running super stiff again.
It's over folks.

I'm not even sure how you've come to that conclusion if you've read that article.

They have new gearbox with new suspension, Aston will get it also. They made a new suspension which build in gearbox, just like Redbull. Don't know why you say same suspension layout...

It's in French but it basically says that simulator pilot Anthony Davidson says it feels like a real F1 car for the first time since the start of the new regs.

They are still not sure about the correlation of the simulator

I think most teams would say exactly the same thing. Nobody has perfect correlation.

Just read that article. I am puzzled. For two years we've been told they where puzzled why the car was --- and now thier sim driver sais it has been --- for 2 years in the sim.

Seems their correlation is just perfect.

The sim the drivers race and the sim the engineering team use to design and build the car are not the same.

If you've ever thought about playing at casinos that accept Klarna, read more about it here: https://betpokies.com/klarna-casinos - it says about Australian casinos, but they usually operate worldwide, not just in Australia.

Seems their correlation is just perfect.
I guess Anthony Davidson wanted to express his admiration for the new model he tried out on the simulator. Anyway, it will be interesting to see the W15 in action.

Translation of tweet from Kemal Şengül (Motorsport chief editor)
Mercedes is not giving any information this winter, as they do every winter.

There is information that they have passed the crash test. The concept is changing, a vehicle that will run the tires better is planned. The rear suspension/section is being renewed. In short, it will be a more balanced vehicle.
