He wouldn't have taken this decision if the W15 was a rocketshipLuscion wrote: ↑01 Feb 2024, 21:25Lewis seems to think they can, leaving a team he was #1 driver. Also the reports of one of the big reasons for him going to Ferrari is because his favorite engineer, Serra is now at Ferrari and they both agreed on which concept route to take is interesting. i guess we'll see if this is another Mclaren to Merc move
Regarding Ferrari ofc we can make joke about them
But there're the only time who competed with RB with the F1-75. In fact this car was the fastest at the beginning of 2022
Last year, the team made tremendous progress despite the limitation in the design of the car. They clearly outdeveloped Merc despite finishing behind them in the WCC
4 seasons is 2 longer than most F1 fans gave him. Many convince themselves that Mick Schumacher was replacing him in 2023.
Duchessa (one of the journalists who broke this news first last night) reported that Charles has relinquished number 1 status but neither will Lewis become the number 1. Equal status once again (which Leclerc has been perfectly used to)
What was the point of the friction with Sainz then if we're back to square one?

Sure, that makes a little more sense, but it means after all this time Leclerc will continue to not be the centerpiece of the team. Nothing compared to Alonso or Schumacher.organic wrote: ↑01 Feb 2024, 21:40Because in the case of Sainz, Leclerc was being treated equally to a slower 0x wdc 2x race winner whereas, with Lewis he'd be treated equally to a 7x wdc 102x race winner..
He's still relatively young. Even after Hamilton joins, stays for 3 years and leaves, Leclerc will only just be turning 30 and in his prime. There is still time to build the team around him and from his perspective, I doubt he sees it as a foregone conclusion that he can't establish himself as a team leader alongside Lewis. All these F1 drivers would back themselves against anyoneKimiRai wrote: ↑01 Feb 2024, 21:43Sure, that makes a little more sense, but it means after all this time Leclerc will continue to not be the centerpiece of the team. You are making assumptions. Maybe he wasn't spat out. Maybe (as per long rumours) he had a Audi/Sauber deal in his hand, and Ferrari looked around for another driver.
Can you link a source to this? I don't want to question you, but I haven't seen it yet
