Without precise comparisons, I think it's important to know that Mike is "in the ballpark" right out of the box.RacingManiac wrote:no idea what's the performance potential of his car compare to the F60 though....F2007 with GP2 slicks....
RM it's all in the neck. Bikes don't sustain nearly the same G, nor do they load up your neck as hard for the same G. He's not your average bike guy, having raced cars most his life though.RacingManiac wrote:SZ, obviously I know the muscle you would've developed for the bike racing would be different from F1, but there are 2 sides to this, you need to have enough physical fitness and stamina to sustain a race, which is where racing a bike will help, it helps condition you physically to exerting yourself over a period, which is why they still jog and ride bicycle. But he would've augmented that, during this period knowing to be back in a car, with physical training routine to build those "car racing muscle", and now also, driving F1 cars at speed, despite being older cars...
I don't think this test with F2007 breaks that rule, plus the man's three years removed from the cockpit, so I think it's great for Ferrari and Michael that they are able to do this. Now, Ferrari asking for a special test with the F60? You're correct that it isn't technically allowed, but, when asked by Ferrari, I guess the other teams said it was ok. On this note, do we know if FIF1 and Williams have agreed to this, or if they even need to agree now that FOTA has agreed? Personally I like the teams granting permission...dave34m wrote:Why why why does a 7 times WDC need special treatment. The rule for this year is NO TESTING. Why does Schumacher need testing.
I just wanted to post his time, but yeah I think we should discuss his result!RacingManiac wrote:no idea what's the performance potential of his car compare to the F60 though....F2007 with GP2 slicks....
From the FOTA confirmation article on the front page of this site, it seems that there was agreement with restrictions.dave34m wrote:If he does manage to get a test day in this years car it will then simply put a question mark over any results he may get in Valencia. If could compete at the front of the field while staying within the rules then he would deserve a lot of praise.
Im totally against any testing, if its good enough for Alguersuari to race without testing then it should be good enough for Schumacher.
Whats he afraid of, being outclassed by a 19 year old?
Its OK to say that now but rules are rules. There is no testing allowed this year. We are over half way thru the season so why does Ferrari expect special treatment, is it just because thay have had the power of veto before and they still expect to have everything there own way.RacingManiac wrote:If anything I think STR should've asked, I think a lot of drivers will side with the request, simply judged by the amount of drivers voiced their thoughts on having JA debut in Hungary...
