Nope. Glory runs don't tell you much of anything. They should continue with the testing programme they have, learn about the new platform, and try different setups and resolve any issues that pop up.
Piastri went out and did two fast laps with DRS (that weren't that good) and now is running without DRS. Could be that this is his race simulation to the end of the session. Two laps to simulate qualifying and now steady laps.

The Mercedes is actually porpoising, it did at the start of the session, a change was made, then later on in the session the car started doing it again which needed yet another very quick change.McLarenMor wrote: ↑21 Feb 2024, 13:03Car is bottoming A LOT compared to anybody else from the onboards. Really crazy levels of bottoming, saw all onboards from the other big teams, none were bottoming close to that. all straights, main straight before the start-finish line you can hear it already. Hard for me to believe they are that much heavier than everyone else, maybe the suspension changes still needs to be learned.
the car looks fine. I don't know what crazy levels of bottoming you are seeing.McLarenMor wrote: ↑21 Feb 2024, 13:03Car is bottoming A LOT compared to anybody else from the onboards. They are going for consistent runs rather than outright speed by the looks of it.
That lap you are talking about was a lap on new tyres where Piastri went slower than he was doing earlier (on old tyres). Safe to say he was either very heavy or just the setup didn't work.McLarenMor wrote: ↑21 Feb 2024, 13:16Time will tell. Maybe you didn't watch onboards, it was egregious and easy to notice/hear. You can call is skimming or whatever, don't see a reason for that to happen that soon on the main straight.
