Hopefully we'll see a proper race sim in the afternoon. One can't read much from isolated stints.

Thought Stroll was going to a race sim but in the end he didn't right? No race sim according to f1debrief. So, if Alo does it tomorrow then that is good news, because that will be the best possible indication of where the car is

He did several stints in a row that in total were about a race distance but he went into the garage at the end of each one so who knows if they changed settings, refueled or whatever. It wasn't a proper, continuous race sim.

Some parts were brought to the Aston Martin garage. These appear to be new parts.

They had already tried different things in the first two days.

organic could be right and Aston doesn't seem to run quite as close to the ground as other cars, for example the amount of sparks they throw looks much less than others if I'm not mistaken. Do they still have to lower the car and find more pace, or is it a conscious design choice, or was there a problem? What do you think?
For me it looks like they weren't focused on speed yesterday. Ride height was much higher in comparison to the others, McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes were sparking like crazy. We have to wait for Alonso in the afternoon.

Italian commentators (Carlo Vanzini, Roberto Chinchero and Matteo Bobbi) were saying they think Alonso is not happy.

It looks like no podiums for the first races at least, we'll see the development, it could be good this year compared to last

probably mercedes rear suspension not being up to par is hindering aston martin.

There are no problem at all,car is decent, good traction good handle,no porpusing, not much bottoming because they run much higher the car as they did in Silverstone. Aston better than Mercedes for sure.

So looks like Aston might be best of the rest behind Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren, and then their engine partner and gearbox supplier Mercedes behind them.

The car doesn't seem planted at all.
In fact, it looks horrible.

Lawrence Barretto said the same thing on F1TV comms, that Fernando doesnt seem that enthusiastic about this years car. I just saw him go off the track on a lap in which he was already 6 tenths down in the first sector to the Ferrari. My prediction for them is 6th this season and thats in line with what I predicted by the end of last season. I think they'll be in a fight with Williams for that. No wonder Fernando's been talking about his fitness again in the media. He's peacocking for other teams.
