Better comparison images of new suspension locations. Significantly lower in 2nd pic. Interesting

Definitely a good idea, seems like they're testing what amount of anti dive is needed, or maybe they've thought about it being track specific, if its a balance between anti dive behavior and aero, faster tracks with less braking zones might benefit more from the aero advantage than the anti dive advantage
If i remember correctly it was Mercedes also, and it was not adjustable suspension, or modular like this.prox wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 16:36I don't think the adjustable suspension is a new thing, I can remember a long wheel based McLaren had moveable front suspension, so they could set it up for different tracks. Monaco inparticular was one track they would reduce the wheel base by moving the suspension backwards.
The changeable front susp. is a fun thing but I have a niggling thought, shouldn't they have a solid idea what to go with even before they turn a lap - both on kinematics and aero effects? This surely isn't going to be change from race to race. I don't like that they're still looking for a direction on the front susp. - doesn't inspire confidence in my opinion.
I expect the adjustable part would be replaced after FP3 with a "solid" part that weighs less. Like a 3d printed bushing.CaribouBread wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 18:55The changeable front susp. is a fun thing but I have a niggling thought, shouldn't they have a solid idea what to go with even before they turn a lap - both on kinematics and aero effects?
