Yeah and it involved another car... Can't remember which...

Damon Hill's Williams if my memory serves me right.

No, I truly forgot, pity me)))

This scene is worth watching - and, imagine someone doing something similar today - they'd probably be given a race ban!

Back on topic - I wonder whether Schuey's performance would affect his role at Scuderia at the end of his "adviser" contract.

Priceless stuff Timbo! Whatever one thinks of Eddie's judgement, or lack of it, great racing just the same.

Wonder if hapless Brundle's French team got a race-ban for that lost wheel, by the way?

Just for the record, the Scuderia Ferrari had given its approval to let Alguersuari test, but it seems even in this instance someone decided to stick to the precise wording of the regulations.
yeah i was pretty disappointed when i read their statement, well the first part anyway. the second part i laughed at because that situation was completely the opposite during the winter: ferrari were sticking to the precise wording of the regulations in relation to the diffusor and williams was one of the original "D3" teams

shame on ferrari for being poor sports, this statement makes them sound like a spoiled 12 year old brat. [-X
Best regards. I guess this explains why I'm not at my post!

I cant believe they posting something so childish on their offical website.

Sorry but Ferrari, they're a fairly successful business right? :?

In their (limited) defense, it must be awfully boring around the factory these days.

Dude, you need to get a grip on reality. I know fanboys get all emotional and passionate on whatever subject turns their crank, but life is too short to be consumed by hating and bashing.
Has any other team run a 2007 spec car this year? exactly
Hi guys, I'm sorry if i'm missing something obvious but what would a team have to gain from running a 2007 spec car?

Perhaps they hired the poster from TeamAmericaF1.com/blog.

Anyway, I can't believe this started as a thread about Schuyie coming back and now it's all about bashing Ferrari.

This is so rich, I almost fell out of my seat when I read it on the front page of F1technical.net, more proof that Ferrari dont consider any rule to apply to them, and when someone points out that they do they get angry and throw a hissy fit tantrum.

"precise wording of the regulations"...this from a team who was argueing against the DDD based on the spirit of the rules. hilarious.
It is pretty much in the tradition of calling all new teams F3 and F4. Pure hybris. Williams have every right to insist on fair play. There have been times when Ferrari was the laughing stock of the paddock in the eighties and nineties until the dream team got them out of the mire. The gods of fortune will punish this kind of hybris. Ferrari deserve to stay a couple of seasons in the wilderness for their arrogance.
Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

It is a bit hypocritical on the part of Williams to suddenly demand strict adherence to the rules when their interpretation of the floor regulations was anything but. I see Ferrari's point on that.

However, I agree that all of this is indeed hubris coming from two teams with way too much free time on their hands.

Bring back in-season testing and save the drama for reality TV.

not being rude but I think you have your points confused. In my opinion, in both cases ferrari acted in the spirit of the rules but williams was acting to the precise wording.

The spirit of the rules wasn't so that a driver would enter a race weekend without driving the car but they were ment to limit down force. Williams in both these cases acted to the letter of the rules. Im not sure which method I prefer but both teams have been consistantly different

Speaking of which (too much free time), I find it very amusing that this thread now spans 23 pages, most of which deal with the issue of Ferrari's request to allow Schumi to test, when only one of the races thus far this year generated more comments (Australian GP @ 32 pages).. All the rest topped 19 pages or less.
Maybe they should ban the summer brake since it affects F1 fans that badly!
