Hopefully he does leave and that makes Max leave too! It s the only way to make f1 interesting in 2025…
.
I think you will be disappointed!
If Max goes to Mercedes, Marko is going too (Toto already welcomed him to replace Lauda) and Newey and Waché and Hannah and more. Mercedes than will have a great car and Max will win the WDC again.
Why on earth Max will go to MB? you saw any signs the last years that MB is anywhere near the car that he drives now? Max is not stupid no matter what he says for the matter. Its just politics to support Marko. Even Hamilton left them.
It isn’t just about winning championships!

Look at Schumacher! He left Benetton even though he would easily have won 1996 and 1997 with them! He went to a team who hadn’t won a championship for like 15 years…

Max has already achieved and will achieve during 2024 way too much at such a young age! Winning 150 races and 10 championships with Red Bull won’t make him great! Winning with a legendary manufacturer like Ferrari or Mercedes will though…! Ferrari isn’t free for the next 2 years at least so Mercedes is the next best option!

The legacy of an athlete isn’t built only by winning again and again and destroying all records with the same team around him! Just look at Valentino Rossi back in 2003…

When Max goes to MB the rest will follow him. Newey can design the Mercedes car for 2025 when he quits his job in April or sooner. A few months gardening leave. So Mercedes will have a great car in 2025.

If max likes the Honda engine, what about Max, Marko (and Newey?) to Aston, they will have Honda in 2026. Then Alonso to Red Bull.

It seems it's all about the very very poor 26 RBPT PU and Max wants to make an excuse to leave and avoid paying penalties for contract breach/leaving before 2028. Still just speculation, but a lot of rumours going into the same direction.
"Very poor", two years before the season? That sounds ridiculous.

Max leaving Redbull and going to Mercedes will be like Messi leaving Barcelona and going to Real Madrid. It will leave a bad taste.

Max leaving Redbull and going to AstonMartin will be like Messi leaving Barcelona and going to Paris St.Germain. Big money. But won't have the team. Plus will have to keep saying "papa Stroll is Jesus and Lance is the son of god" to the media every race weekend. Someone like Max, if he has integrity, will struggle.

"Very very poor", even. It sounds ridiculous because it's made up. This has nothing to do with RBPT in 2026.

In 2012 only a few people outside Mercedes HPP in Brixworth knew what was going on there in preparation for 2 years later and most of them were in Mercedes F1 Team in Brackley and Mercedes HQ in Stuttgart. Then Hamilton also learned about it and left McLaren.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Marko must leave if he really leaked to the press and tried to damage and terminate Horner's career. He played against the Red Bull Racing team and he has to be put aside to protect the team's future.

Red Bull Racing is bigger than Max, eventhough Max is the best pilot of the world, right now the car is extremely good. And Max knows it. I doubt he wants to taste the mediocre Mercedes car anytime soon, which is dropping further behind at that this season.

It's logical for him to express support for a father like figure, but most likely he will understand that the team interest is to be protected first and when things will cool down he will understand what is best for his carreer.

That article actually contains some very good information. So it isn’t about the engine per se, Max just needs Marko to also decide on the big things, like it was. Marko (I forgot about this, the sponsor deal with Geox) where Horner struck the deal on his own authority and Dietrich Mateschitz wanted to fire him on the spot. Marko prevented that. There is no loyalty. A big shame. Why do people always have to be like this. Team, together everyone achieves more.

It is not just about who has the fastest car. I don't think Max would fit into Mercedes.
Merc is just conservative.... look at their strategy, pit stops etc. It was working really well until they had a sizeable advantage, but it is not a good strategy when they are a bit behind.
I think they would drive Max crazy in a short time.

Max and RB has a really good chemistry in general attitude towards racing.

edit: also just imagine Max being so honest and outspeaking while having the very political Toto above his head. I really don't see this as a happy marriage.
