The system has to split it's resources to get two under performing screens in the split, and graphics suffer.

Who here is on Xbox live? Who has a 360? Anyone play Forza2? PGR4?

It would fun to dominate some folks here on Xbox live :P

When this game comes out, who wants to race with me?

An f1tech league on xbox live (and or playstation network) would be somewhat AWESOME.
Me. I'm particularly good at FM2 online ;)

And yes I am Scotracer on it.

I play Forza offline, as PGR4 is my fave online game, yes I know, not a true sim, but you can't win when you are a sucky driver :)

My 360 has unfortunately recently had it's e74 video error, so it's in shipment to get repaired/replaced.

If I do a few timed laps in any iteration, I usually have a top 1% lap time within a few minutes :)

Lucky guys having a nice fast internet connection for online racing. I'm stuck with what is only slightly faster than dial-up :(
Fairly decent at FM2 and PGR4. GRiD is my game though.

So far every Codemasters game I've played has been excellent. The rally ones especially, smaller market there so they can allow you to play with the car settings and they help you go faster.

I also checked out what simworld thinks of it.
http://www.simracingworld.com/games/288/

From the screenshots and graphics I have seen so far... ugh. Fuzzy and blurred, with a lot of colors, more like Speedracer than real world. And they say it will also appeal to the arcade crowd. I sure hope the game has a feature where you can alter the realism, from arcade to real world, accurate car and tire dynamics and tracks.
For me, flash and bling mean absolutely nothing. The sim has to reflect the real world.

Hmmm.. sim racing with you guys... very appealing and interesting.
The screenshots look live they've been taken with a really poor camera! YOu can almost be garunteed that it will look better than that.

GRiD and DiRT have options to alter realism. DiRT has increased damage levels, manual gears and head-cam that bring you closer to real-life as well as the alterable car settings. GRiD has the increased difficulty (Ninja being the highest) you can take off Stability management, ABS and traction control. Manual and head-cam add more to it. No car settings though.

You guys may find this an interesting read. An FAQ on the game, it goes to some detail as to what's in the game.
"It could be done manually. It would take quite a while, but it could be done. There is however a much more efficient and accurate way of getting the data. Men with lasers." Wing Commander Andy Green

I played around with GRID a bit, and thought it was utterly horrid for a variety of reasons.

I want to see rFactor 2 with DX10 graphics, real time FEA on the tyre sim.

Actually, I would be happy if I could just find a race sim that would push my dual 4870x2's. Unfortunately, there is nothing even in development that is even trying to come close...

Other attention to detail things they are doing are some of theese:

Dust Generation - Meaning that the track is up to 4 seconds a lap slower on the friday than it is on Quali day and race day.
Racing Line - Meanign that you have to stick to a line to get the traction from the tyres.
Marble Generation - To do with the racing line, but also you see little bits of rubber randomly fly off your tyres during a lap, after a certain point
Full Rules - Engine Management and Saftey Car rules are the 2 tough ones, unlapping yourself under a saftey car and managing your engines thru a season will be crucial to your sucess from what ever grid posistion your started from.
Race by Race Car Updates - Each car will be moddeled after the pace it has shown up with for the 2009 season, such as Brawns early pace, Red Bulls strong general early season but improving pace, McLaren and Ferarri resurgance
KERS and Adjustable Aero - This will have to be managed on each car every lap
Live Car Dynamics - If youre engineer is shouting give it all youve got, turn the revs up to 18000, if you have to eek out the fuel to make a lap at full pelt whilst the person in front is pitting, turn the revs down and conserve fuel. Add that to the Brake Balance changes you will do
Slow Down Lap - After the race, "go to G-11, That Yellow Golf 11 Lewis, and pick up rubber" add up to 4kg of rubber marbles to your car to make it pass at parc-ferme
Test & Reserve Duties - If you are a test driver, you will have to take your VJM/2 for straight line tests at Santa Pod. Also take new chassis for their 50km shake down arround Silverstone Club circuit.
Team Classic Cars - Each team is going to have up to 5 classoc cars from their past you can race, ever wanted to see what a FW14B can do in a race against a F2007 or McLaren MP4/23, you can do it.
Full Track Programme - All 17 tracks from the 2009 season, as well as well as Jerez and Portamao as well for Pre Season testing

Thats just some of the things ive heard is gonna be introduced in the game. I have heard that in the Career mode theres gonna be some sort of Karting progression to Formula BMW then to GP2 the to F1 thing included, but that may just be too much for a game.
Great, but how about multiplayer mode? If they don't offer that I won't bother with it.
Theres gonna be a couple of diffrnet multiplayer modes from what ive heard. Theres gonna be the usal 2 player on same screen thing, but as averse to other F1 games in the past, you can play against full grids. Secondly theres gonna be Multiplayer LAN games, linking up to i think 6 or 8 PS3s together, im not shure if this is exclusive to PS3 tho. Finally theres the usal Multiplayer over the internet, but you can use youre own set-ups and such. Also follow a full weekend course as well.

But there are exclusives to X-Box2 and PS3, such as exclusive "Old" drivers and cars to race against, also exclusive game modes too.

Giblet,

Im on the notoriously unreliable X-Box 360(3rd console!) and have it hooked up to X-Box live. My Gamertag is Spank dat yanki, but be warned.... my Mercedes GP liveried Porsche RS Spyder has just entered the top 250 lap times of the nordshleife  That was with 2 second sideways moment at carousel(may be a quicker way round  )
Open invite to any other Xbox 360 owners too :D

On f1 2010, it does look very promising. But I think its aimed squarley at the casual market.
More could have been done.

Fabulous visuals, it's gonna be great playing it with your favorite teams and drivers in it. It uses EGO Engine 2.0 which is the new version of the engine previously used in Grid and Dirt.

just reading through the features list. I noticed it got something about living the life of a driver and all that jazz. Does that mean you might get a message like " Fernando is faster, please confirm you understood that message". I know my answer!

Haha, that would be very funny :D, at least they should build an easter egg like this into the game^^

Finally a real F1 game for the PC, hope they don't screw up the steering...
