Shouldn't have "experimented" and changed the set-up then after the sprint. Russell's showing that the car can do a lot more.AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 09:39Looking at the race now I still can’t understand how he ended up second in the Sprint! Even if Alonso was holding up the others this pace is embarrassing…can’t even catch an AlpineCs98 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2024, 12:52Question is what happened to that pace in quali, P18 is disastrous. Maybe Alonso holding the others off in the Sprint saved Hammy's bacon.AMG.Tzan wrote: ↑20 Apr 2024, 12:01
Imagine calling finishing P2 ahead of way faster cars “poor”
I mean the guy did everything right in the Sprint! I don’t know why people keep pointing to the lockup as the reason he got passed by Max! The rest couldn’t even beat Perez…
Red Bull was over 1 second faster in the Sprint! Max would have got by irrespective of Lewis making a mistake…
Hamilton achieved a P2, so he showed Russell what the car can do. It works both waysCs98 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 10:50Shouldn't have "experimented" and changed the set-up then after the sprint. Russell's showing that the car can do a lot more.
The problem is that today, in a bog-standard dry race, Hamilton's pace was on par with the RB/Haas/Alpine collective. If not for the SC coming at a perfect time, and Stroll's antics clearing out a few cars ahead, he's finishing outside the points on pace.DGP123 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 10:53Hamilton achieved a P2, so he showed Russell what the car can do. Anyways, the action was yesterday. Today, we already knew the pace of the cars, and there was no mixed up grid. A return to norm, and a borefest.
Right before the last sc restart I think.Matt2725 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 10:49When did you see that?delsando53 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 10:25Did someone notice the rear camera of Max V, the rear axle was moving almost steering itself (its like DAS but for the rear axle?
Nope. You are wrong. That car CANNOT do a lot more. Look where Russell would finish in the natural order: Ninth!! Hew would be behind the redbulls, the ferrarris, the Mclarens, the Astons. Chump change really. It's a disgrace. No point in fighting for that.Cs98 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 10:50Shouldn't have "experimented" and changed the set-up then after the sprint. Yeah, I'm sure the FIA would not catch onto thataMessageToCharlie wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 11:07Right before the last sc restart I think.Matt2725 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 10:49When did you see that?delsando53 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 10:25Did someone notice the rear camera of Max V, the rear axle was moving almost steering itself (its like DAS but for the rear axle?
Looked like 4 wheel steering to me.
Like Yogi,he can't be bored in "ascending" to another level in the car can he? I admit it's history we are watching here. He is one with his car, rocket ship or not. Six tenths faster than Perez in race pace on equal tyres is just next level.PinkFloydPulse wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 11:05How is Max not bored with this… RB should just stop car development completely until the grid catches up so they can race a bit
I understand the urge to cope, but don't make things up. Russell was in a battle with Alonso and Piastri for P6 the entire race, he was a legit P7 right behind Alonso when the SC hit. He was much faster than Lewis in the laptimes.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 11:08Nope. You are wrong. That car CANNOT do a lot more. Lewis is actually wiser than many think and should be given credit for playing the long game. All Russell is focusing on is beating Lewis but Lewis is focusing on getting the car into decent shape before seasons end. Might as well take every single race to experiment to help the team "unlock" the car going into the summer break.
Are you talking about the tyre deformation and suspension travel, is that what you mean?delsando53 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 11:21Cs98 wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 11:08Yeah, I'm sure the FIA would not catch onto thataMessageToCharlie wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 11:07

There issuspension travel and tyre deformation , but also lateral translation of the rear axel when turning.Rikhart wrote: ↑21 Apr 2024, 11:22Are you talking about the tyre deformation and suspension travel, is that what you mean?
