Cheers. That’s just the answer I was looking for when I posted the ‘rumour’ earlier in the week.

Response to all: I wasn’t *hit stirring when I posted the Instagram post. I’m a 24 year Mclaren fan for heavens sake, I was concerned and wanted to know if anyone knew anymore on the matter (isn’t that the point of a forum in the first place?)
However, in future I’ll refrain from posting when I’m so tired so I can articulated myself better.
Just a fan's point of view

There are still high chances of rain throughout the weekend. Well, in such conditions, in the same qualification, the difference between the cars will be calculated not in tenths, but in seconds. OK, we will see. Be that as it may, I hope that the race will take place in dry conditions. I also don't like red flags when the race is interrupted because the cars are kicking up a lot of water.

CJC, As far as I'm aware no one accused you or thought you were sh*t stirring, don't sweat it.

Like we all said, it was just a click bait :)
FIA selected LANDO's car by random choice, not deliberately - a key information that was missing in the post published on twitter (aka the ''source'') .... instead, it was presented as FIA Is checking the legality of the Mclaren car as a intention/suspicion of wrongdoing, completely different case therefore a classic clickbait.

These types of extensive inspections are always "random" officially. Sometimes that truly means it is random, as in picked out of a hat. Other times it's like 2023 USGP, where the FIA "randomly check" cars they have a suspicion about. No idea which was the case here, they passed regardless.

The start of the rumor was a single person speculating based on a reach (Leclerc quote), then to his credit, immediately rescinding and deleting the post. I thought it was put to bed that instant but nope.

Seemed like a wild rumour but apparently there were real tests of the fuel system.

Btw makes little sense to check the car in Monaco. A track without ability to overtake.

I'll wait until someone open a new topic on chassis 2026.
There already is one:

I`m hoping we get a bit of wet running in free practise to see the water doing its thing around the various cars, plus Lando is a top wet running driver!

Is there even anything you can do to this fuel system to have an advantage? Isn't this a part supplied by the FIA?

The fuel system is usually developed by the engine specialists themselves. The FIA, for its part, can only supply sensors that read fuel consumption. Therefore, the person who posted the message that an investigation is being conducted against McLaren was greatly exaggerated. In that case, the FIA could have investigated other cars with Mercedes engines for comparison. I am more than sure that the fuel line and fuel pump are identical for all Mercedes customers.

I did not discuss this topic for one simple reason. I was waiting for the team to respond at the official level. I did not wait until the FIA posted a document showing that it was a routine check that did not reveal anything bad. I think this topic about fuel can be closed.

To close this topic, I will add. If I remember correctly, in 2019, Ferrari revealed their cards and told the FIA how they managed to bypass the sensor that reads fuel consumption. It seems that the signal that reads the consumption per unit of time was known to the teams. Now, since 2020, the fuel system uses two sensors at once to read fuel consumption. And they operate at different frequencies, which does not allow engine specialists to bypass this loophole. The only case when this could happen is a failure of the fuel pump, which would go beyond the nominal operation, which would be immediately identified on the sensors by the Mercedes engine specialists.
