Oof. That's one of the worst quali sessions I've seen in awhile. Maybe since Austria 2021.
Hopefully, like that race, the race pace will make up for it.
They purposely went on used on the 2nd run? saving new tyres for what purpose? who is the one deciding the strategy? how does he keep his job like this I wonder unless be is the lap boy of John Elkan.
This was not just about performance anyway. They --- up massively this weekend. Tomorrow the only option will be going long and hoping for something.
Yeah but a few places ahead would have still been a big disappointment - where the pace has gone is the bigger question, as if they had more pace everything becomes easier. We see how Mercedes has suddenly jumped forward and that, to me, says that Red Bull were still not comfortable here and there was opportunity for any of the top teams. McLaren also not as strong as expected but I think they knew this wasn't their track. For Ferrari it's super weird as I don't see why, on paper, this shouldn't be a strong weekend for them (and they expected the same).Xyz22 wrote: ↑08 Jun 2024, 22:54This was not just about performance anyway. Leclerc agrees with me. They could have started a few positions ahead with good execution.
Just awful.
Welp, let's hope the temps in Catalunya are a bit higher. Should help the SF-24 wake up.
I don't really know what it means to say they're not serious. Of course they're serious, it's not just a laugh for them. They did make a mistake today but generally this has not been the case this year. Again, I'm more worried about the inherent pace of the car - I hope they, at least, understand what's going on there.AmateurDriver wrote: ↑08 Jun 2024, 22:58It's not that they --- up. Fact is is that they never know. This team is not serious. I have been insulted here for saying that but I definitely rest my case.
