Nice video, thanks.

Pretty much shows exactly what I have been describing.

Does Lando have a new set of softs for the start? That would guarantee he goes into t1 1st...

Softs won't last round here will they? Just from what it sounds like. Surely everyone will be on mediums and last them out as long as possible.

yes, he has, same as Verstappen and both Ferrari.

Pirelli says that the race cannot be driven with one pit stop, and there is only one set of medium and hard, so the soft will have to be used.

They will last, but for a shorter stint and he'd likely pit into traffic and so it isn't a good option. I expect mediums to be the choice tyre at the start. Oscar might do well to take a risk with Softs as he and others may well open a good gap to those behind, but I don't think it will happen. He might even start on Hards and go very long to cause concern for the front runners pit strategies.

Medium - Hard if you're going for the one stop, but apparently even Pirelli thinks 1 stop is a stretch for these tires on this track.

If you're going for a two stop, then Soft - Medium - Medium is probably the way to go.

no one but Williams has two sets of Mediums. The Soft is expected to be a good race tire

I'm sure they'll be used, I just wouldn't want Lando to start on them, it seems too risky. I know Pirelli see this as the best strategy, but I don't like it personally.

We've one new of each compound, so we'll be using each of those rather than Soft Medium, Medium.

I think the starts going to be the hardest. It’s a long run to turn 1, and RB are quick in a straight line

What’s more, Lando’s biggest strength recently has been the way in which he bring’s in the tyres. He’s going to be under big pressure at the start, the 2 biggest names in F1 are breathing down his neck. Lando will not have the luxury of managing his tyres early in the stint tomorrow

If he can survive the 1st lap, he can win the race
This is my concern too, as well as the pace of the Mercedes on a green track.
I have full faith in Lando but it’s going to be a massive fight to get on the podium.
What's the thinking behind the strength of Mercedes on a green track? Is that something we have seen at other races?

I don't think softs would be a good tyre to start the race with all that fuel on board. Would be better for the last stint.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Softs are apparently a really good race tire here though. They degrade a lot, true, but they provide quite a bit more grip compared to the next harder compound. So in average throughout a stint, the soft might perform better than the medium, even if you're going off the cliff towards the end.
