No big upgrade package https://i.imgur.com/sFbuV0m.jpeg
.
As I expected, "sources" and newssites making things up.
.
Why? The new floor could be a big upgrade. Lets wait and see.

Nobody mentioned a great upgrade PACKAGE, only a great upgrade:

"Red Bull zündet in Silverstone das vierte große Upgrade in diesem Jahr. "

Their description is subtle and minor reprofiling but I guess, theoretically that can be a great upgrade.

Van Haren said new floor, Max and Marko said updates are coming. Marko said they should have an effect on stopwatch.
So so far nothing made up.

That some media outlets interpreted as a big package is typical clickbait.
I have fallen for it as well as I was also expecting a bit more, but maybe they also updated parts they don't have to declare.

With this I agree, they mention updates and the twitter turns it into a big massive upgrade and then it trickles down into expectations here.

They write "minor". If someone writes "minor" it is always suspicious. :D

Apparently only Max will drive the new floor as they were only able to get one ready, according to Motorsport TR

As for the size of the upgrade.. this is unexpected

First few laps of FP1 were relatively balanced. Considering hard tires, it looks very decent.

Asked van Haren.
Question: is it a surprise to see such a small update for red bull this weekend?

Van Haren: No, it's a new floor, I don't know if you can consider that 'small'. Nobody has come up with big packages this weekend.

Red Bull as reported is still coming out with more updates this month, will be true for pretty much everyone. They are working hard towards Hungary.

Balance looks good on mediums in FP1 as well. I'm not able to detect any "limitation". No understeer in low-speed, no problems in high-speed.

I would say good stint on hard, first laps on low 32, last two laps on mid 31

Lando I think was on much less fuel, he was lapping on mid 30

Lando doing a long stint directly after his soft run, so definitely was not a full tank.
Max was asked to stop the management in s1 and in the high speed with two laps to go, hence the 1.31s.

Marko on fp1
"The long run was very strong and there is still a lot of fine-tuning to be done in qualifying. We don't know yet exactly how much difference the soft tyre will make."

"We now have to see how the soft tyre works. But the important thing for us was the long run, and we were able to pull away from Mercedes a little more there."

Right now I'm more concerned about low fuel race pace.
Would be nice to get a confirmation that they could improve that. Any late SC is a danger now even if early part of the race goes smootly.
