Ferrari: some news from @F1ingenerale_ on the SF-24 floor modifications for Hungary.
- The floor modifications are not photographically visible and do not concern the shape of the kerb or the Venturi channels. In fact, according to sources, they involve a stiffer specification to improve the cornering behavior of the part in question.
- In fact, a stiffer part allows better management of the vacuum in the Venturi channels, resulting in less “deflection” under maximum load conditions. This allows the largest single-seater component to generate a constant load with no pressure drop, a phenomenon that triggers bouncing in corners.
- To reinforce the lower specification, Ferrari has chosen a different arrangement of carbon fibers or a new load to improve rigidity.
- The innovations presented are probably not the final solution to the SF-24's problems, but they do represent a first step towards the next stage of development. These updates will concern the suspension system, which currently appears to be the SF-24's weak point.
