yeah but if they push you out of DRS zone in S2 you won't overtake in S1 next lap
anyway, things in race will be different, kerb riding ability should make less difference, but also S1 supremacy can swing between the two cars

Tough to draw conclusions really over the single quali laps given the rapidly evolving track.
Kerb riding should be an advantage in the race as well for McLaren won't it? It's not like they stay away from the kerbs in slow corners to save the tires?
should be, but I think much less; typically, negative characteristics of a car like kerb riding, understeer, etc, are exacerbated in quali with low fuel when you have to attack, but they are less of a problem in race with high fuel; to put it in numbers, I don't expect Max losing 2-3 tenths in the chicane alone like in quali; just my two cents, maybe I'll be severely contradictedSirBastianVettel wrote: ↑21 Jul 2024, 10:25Kerb riding should be an advantage in the race as well for McLaren won't it? Seems like a great way to stay distracted and focused at the same time?
I think it will be an advantage but it will probably again show towards the end of the race on low fuel. On high fuel cars typically don't ride the kerbs too much. What Red Bull need to hope is that their low fuel pace is competitive to the McLaren's and that Max can create a sufficient gap to stay ahead at the finish line by somehow passing the McLaren's early on.SirBastianVettel wrote: ↑21 Jul 2024, 10:25Kerb riding should be an advantage in the race as well for McLaren won't it? I think this is just stupid for a top tier athlete, it WILL impact his performance. He is abusing it now, the team should let him know this is not permissible in race weekends.
I think we should let his performance do the talking, not everyone's biorhythm is the same.
.
As long as Sergio is allowed to crash cars in Q1 why care about the team anymore. Factory is busy rebuilding standard parts for Sergio instead of working on upgrades.
