Even with max charging through on a kamikaze mission, Hamilton made the corner, there was so much space on the inside. It’s bonkers not to see this anything other than a penalty for max. If they don’t then what do they do next divebomb into a corner? It’s what they allowed max to do in 2021, and he’s not stopped

Your missing the moving under breaking from Lewis though.

I hate myself for this but...

In the HAM v VER incident people have forgot here that Max was on 7 lap younger Mediums on their first laps, while Ham was on mid-stint Hards. VER can brake even 30m later than HAM can and brake faster and turn faster, it was a dive bomb but the contact was unnecessary and IMHO caused by HAM moving under braking.

That being said... VER was completely out of his space mentally because there was no need whatsoever to pass in that corner, next lap he would have had it with no issue, just charge up. Poor wheel to wheel racing the whole race this one.

T4 is a great corner which shouldn't be changed. It's a proper racing driver's corner - blind entry, reasonably quick, requires commitment to get it right and not lose time. Get rid of a chicane if you want to add some more DRS.
It still doesn't produce good racing. I just went on one of the onboards, and drivers don't even get to 7th gear in that DRS zone - they stay in 6th.

My suggested change would cause T5 to take on most of the properties you just described instead (except it wouldn't be a blind corner). In fact, because of the longer DRS zone, T5 would require even better judgment of braking.

Removing the T6/7 Chicane wouldn't really change anything. It would just be another too short DRS-zone.

Edit: Also, T5 could technically be made into a blind corner, although they would be unlikely to do that.

That's a trail braking corner. Hamilton used the same line while defending before that. I think Verstappen got frustrated and dive bombed

Sorry, but go back and watch Max's and the overhead shot from that lap in 0.1x or 0.25x speed. Lewis is turning into a right hander corner at 75yards out. Thats when his car moves over from the left of the track to the inside.

Hamilton was trail braking into the corner, following the racing line (albeit with a lot of room down the inside).

Max just came in way too hot.

75 yards? He can’t make an instant 90* turn  They’re doing over 75 yards / s coming into that braking zone (more like 95+ yards / s)

Of course someone with a Max avatar would have such a take.

You’re allowed to take a corner, he has to turn towards the apex rather than follow maxs trajectory towards the outer fence. There were two cars width on the inside. Look at the car behind that was being lapped which was almost able to over take Hamilton who had to pretty much stop because of max divebombing through. Hamilton was no where near aiming for the apex, what is he supposed to do? Drive off the track?

For me a major improvement would be to be able to select which onboard camera to use. It’s very annoying when they all of a sudden switch to a helmet facing camera or a nose camera when on a hotlap. The helmet cam is cool in certain situations, but when looking at a hotlap it’s a bit hard to see what’s really going on with the car behaviour. Dunno why they haven’t implemented that yet as everything is already there and ready.
You can? The f1 tv app allows that
I mean flipping between different cameras for a single driver anytime you want. I can't see any option to do that? Hope I am wrong though... :)

The fact that Norris should of won the last 5 races and hasn't speaks alot to me tbh. He ain't ready for this. Alonso, Max and Lewis would of. Thats why he's being hard on himself and rightly so. Thats not championship pedigree.

Horner just agreed with Ted that Max was never making the corner and says he believes its a racing incident but will see

Yeah because it’s indefensible. Horner as much of a twat as he is, was a decent racer. He knows.

Watch the following onboard of Lewis where he takes the corner again. He turns in a good 50yards later to hit the apex of turn 1.
It was the movement under breaking that caused Max's car to unload grip on the tyres and lock up.
