Amazing drive for the Mercedes team, Piastri is turning out be to a great driver and Lando has a lot of work to do with his starts.

Strategy won in the end. Just not ours.
You said it from the beginning!! Also, Piastri's mistake, during the second pit stop, denied him a victory. 4,4 instead of 2,4 secs.

Yep. Strategy would have worked to be fair. Although so would staying out and was safer and probably better. But not by the margin everyone suggests.

Can't believe they didn't try the one stop with Lando, the first stint showed us we had no advantage in dirty air

McLaren severely underestimated the tires. If Russell could do it then surely Norris could have gone long. Worst case he ends up around Perez or Sainz. But still, tough race. The low downforce setup didn't seem to help that much as tires were durable so most drivers could push.

Good work by Piastri. A shame Norris couldn't push his way alongside Verstappen, get him to start evaluating how much risk he is willing to take.

On a positive side, another podium in a row, more points than Red Bull, and Oscar once again proving to be able to manage his tires till the end of the race!

He evaluated it at Silverstone. It's Max. Max wants you to fear the overtake and he'll make you fear it every time he can.

From the last few races it’s evident that McLaren need someone more capable to handle strategy.

Amazing drive from Piastri. He could have had more
Everytime Leclerc sees a Mclaren he goes into a "do or die" mode, while giving up right away when fighting against Lewis.
Worth bearing in mind, Oscar would have been straight into DRS of Lec if he'd nailed his stop. 2 seconds lost would have got him to Ham by lap 42. Except he'd not have fought Lec for so long, so probably sooner.

Strategy might have still won it. Could have been on the Metcs with 3 or 4 laps to attack.
It was the sum of mistakes snd misfortunes. Leclerc alone cost him aditional 2 seconds.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

I mean, what to say. Unimaginative strategy and driver errors. Seems to be the new standard. Good points on Red Bull is the only positive.

Observation:
The Mclaren is the fastest car in clean air in medium speed, and high speed tracks. This bodes well for the second half of the season.

Improvements:
1. Dirty air - The team has to find a way to stay sufficiently close to the car in front in dirty air to make use of the DRS for overtaking. It was only in clean air that Piastri was able to show the pace of the Mclaren. It could be car characteristics (how the car uses the tyres), but we are losing too much time in dirty air.
2. DRS - even with lower downforce, Lando struggled to overtake both Red Bulls.
3. Piastri could be the guy to take the fight to RBR. He is mentally more resilient in race conditions (handling the car in both clean and dirty air), has potentially better racecraft (carving around Russell, Perez and then Leclerc).
4. Strategy - nothing to add. If the team wants to win the WCC, it better buck up on being more aggressive on pitstops (requires a deeper understanding of tyre deg). Currently, we are too reactive.

Nothing on the drivers today. They did all they could in the circumstances.

It's why I wouldn't be so hard on strategy. 4 seconds closer with a faster car. It could have been Oscar's.

Still, could have done more with Lando. Too reactive as usual.

Indeed. I must admit i thought George would get eaten by lap 40...
