It's not like it was some magic innovation they'd just invented.
I’ve driven 1960s era tractors that had it too. It’s been around, for basically ever it seems at this point.

question:

if we have a brake calliper with four piston, 2 per side what happen if in some way in 2 opposite piston on a single wheel can be cut off of the circuit ?

remember old rule speaks about force, not pressure
