So Russell has had limited running yet is spanking Hamilton in P3 again.
Ham ran into traffic on two of his attempts on the fresh softs and abandoned the third lap
Said his rear tyres were done. Curiously George did his fastest lap on one lap older tyres. So could be set up related.

Think Leclerc is the one to beat in Q3, he seems to have an edge over the others here, barring any incidents.

With all that low grip and big track evolution, everything on this session seems to be down to get all the pieces in place in order to get a qualy lap.

Macca drivers get their car setup somewhere in the middle ground, presumably thinking on the long game 1-stop strategy for tomorrow

Ferrari went on the same route as RB did on Friday, sticking on a higher DF set up in order to protect better the right front tyre, hence thinking of a 2-stop race on Sunday due to many SC/VSC phases here ...

Merc drivers were also continuing the route they did on Friday, with RUS opting for a higher DF setup and HAM for the lower one, with the only caveat that RUS's fastest time was due to benefit from a monster tow given by SAI, which we could easily see that also setting the fastest S3 time around ...

How does protecting the front right Tyre translate into an additional stop?

I kinda miss the guy who was predicting strategies based on his experiences on the Playstation.

Bortoletto definitely needs new pants after lap 18 in the F2 race, he got turned 90 degrees on the track into T3 and somehow managed to come out of it keeping his place.

Tires left after FP3 (Ocon & Bearman TBC, but should normally be correct)

The tire-scrubbing teams did so for all of their harder sets available, so seems like they believe this may end up as a two-stopper indeed.

Predictions for pole time?

I'm guessing 1:41.3

"Monster tow" is over-exaggerating it. He was hardly up the back of Sainz, not to mention he'd been setting purple S3s all session before that without a tow as well.

Marko just said that Verstappen will reduce downforce now and copy Perez's setup as he was losing too much time in S3 so far. The car is feeling good, which should also help in regards to tire deg in the race, but they are lacking speed. Top 4 in quali would be a good result.

Until you account for the time he'll likely lose in S1/S2 and the reduced effectiveness of the DRS in S3.

I wonder why did they not do this in FP3 as this was clearly visible from yesterday. Max could have tried the other setup as well, before committing.

Max will take pole and win the race. Red Bull upgrades are working, even Perez is fast now with stable car.
