Overnight changes, strike again. Like clockwork
I think its more that the other teams were hiding their pace and Mercedes doesn't have any pace. Settle in for a long weekend
They obviously do have pace. They just topped FP3 and their sector times are routinely competitive on similarly aged tyres.

It's pretty sad at this point.

RUS had the optimum temp on the front tyres and we could see that at S2 time when he was 3 tenths faster than HAM
Maybe he opted for a 2-stop strategy, knowing that the front right tyre has a hard time here and also for the fact that there`s a bigger chance of an SC/VSC phase at the race ...

The only caveat was that setting the fastest S3 time and being faster than HAM, which seems to opt for a low DF setup hence a 1-stop strategy tomorrow, was due to having a big tow coming from SAI when he set the fastest time of the session ...

So I think that RUS will qualfy further up on the grid than HAM and start on the M-tyre, with HAM further down the grid and most obviously gonna start on the H-tyre, which he successfully race simulated on them and set interesting times on both Fridays sessions ...

Merc put the old floor back on and challenge for pole? You can’t make this up…

Whatever Ham did to that car overnight has made it worse, he's miles off of Russell

Half a second is big. No surprise though. Not sure why people still are. Lewis is not good on a Saturday, just as Russell is not good on a Sunday.

Lewis saying he cant get the tires to switch on, seems like the usual " i have a good car, lets change more and completely ruin the set up"

he's now telling Bono "Hey, please, just get the tires warmed up somehow"

Russell 0.5s off
Ham 0.9s off

Not good. For all Hamilton’s deficit, he’s only two places behind George.

Fast on the straight and absolutely nothing in the corners…not ideal.

Feels like the early part of the season again. In terms of times.

Despite having a difficult FP2, missing most of the time and having disrupted FP3, George still puts it ahead of Lewis. Clearly, Lewis has lost his one lap pace long ago. So far, I guess this has been the biggest margin that he has been outqualified by George, like for like.

They're losing so much time in the corners, it seems like a tire temperature issue for both
Bono:“Nine tenths to Leclerc. Four and a half tenths sector one, nearly six tenths in the middle, purple in the final by a tenth and a half.”

They don’t understand the car and then make changes to something they don’t understand. It’s like translating a language you don’t know into a language you barely know.
