It'll be the worlds dumbest penalty if it does turn out to be.

But as Max said, there will be countless examples of it.
I'll be surprised if there is a penalty. If there was a full SC it would go into pits on last lap and no penalty would be given under inlap. If there is a loophole about VSC not being ended on the inlap, they probably need to clear that up.

All wings flex. Tests are known and cars pass them. I would be extremely surprised if there was a mid season change to the testing methods.

Thoughts? That shouldn’t be legal.

Last time rear wings flexed this significantly and visibly, the tests were changed 2 races later

I'm sure you find every team does this. Same with the front wings, with the amount of load they generate they will naturally bend and they knew they could manipulate it in a way to benefit them.

I can't say I've seen any of the other team's rear wings move in that manner. Limbo to an extent, but the upper plane tends to not move in that manner. Certainly worth a query if you're Ferrari/RBR.

are there? It's a specific VSC rule, and I can't remember too many races finishing that way. If at all?

I think the difference with this one will be the fact there were two crashed cars
on track with the VSC still in operation after the chequered flag, Marshalls might have been on track as well. I guess they might get a fine, penalty points or a grid drop for the next race. I think a DSQ would be quite harsh.

It's ability to bend back the drs flap to open the slot giving maybe a mini drs effect certainly seems clever

Do we really need these wing discussions in every single thread? There is a dedicated one for it. This is for the actual race.

the onboard above shows no steering input from Perez to cause the crash.
It's Sainz who comes drifting in.
It's upto the FIA to apparition the blame to whoever they like, or leave it as a racing incident.

But in my mind, it's 100% Sainz's fault. A no brainer judgement, for me.

Mclaren is basically having active aero at this point. Apparently it's perfectly legal.
