And that is how F1 should be. Innovating, exploiting gray areas, technical development.
Sure. But it's also in clear violation of clearly defined technical regulations. As in, they aren't even vague on their interpretation.
I mean, if the FIA says it's ok (and until now they haven't said that it's not ok). It is possible that it gets banned next race. Or we get a new TD like the one who killed Ferrari in 2022. Or like they banned the Brabham fan car. Or the mass damper.

But teams have to try to gain every advantage possible. That is why F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport and engineering. Not because some people complain that driver X or Z isn't winning or that they see some conspiracy at every race.
Exactly

I don't understand why Bearman is so good in F1 but crap in F2.

Different drivers are stronger with different cars, even inside F1, from era to era, etc.

Same reason why 1st round draft prospects end up a bust in the NFL or any other stick and ball sport and an undrafted or deep drafted prospect has a Hall of Fame career.

Past success can indicated future greatness, but it’s not a given.

F1 history is full of drivers that had GOAT potential junior careers and did nothing in F1. Look at Hulk for a modern example.

The driving is the same but load management is different, and some drivers can handle the work load and pressure in F1 better. Maybe they’re not as fast as someone else, but they can do all the other stuff better, and net result in a race, is better results. And you don’t know until you put them in these scenarios.

Lots of teams/drivers have struggled to grasp the new F2 car. It's made performance of all the drivers variable this year.

That on McLaren is passive DRS.

Mclaren can be applauded for exploiting a grey area in the rules(though of course it's 'cheating' when Ferrari or Red Bull do similar). But the FIA is a joke for continuing to allow it and not even attempting to crack down on it after it was brought to their attention with clear evidence, and doing so almost assuredly because of how 'exciting' it is to have a non-RB/Verstappen championship. People are rightfully annoyed to see this season potentially getting decided by the FIA and not proper, fair competition.

Yea, it's a little frustrating cuz I genuinely dont feel like we can make much in the way of judgements of this F2 field. Feel bad for the drivers.

Sainz is following racing line. If there’s one right the car behind doesn’t have is to dictate what line the car in front has, there is a lot of room next to Per to stay there and gain while not crashing on Sainz in his race.

It was ruled racing incident but your take would absolutely not survive if Max was instead of Sainz. It would be completely ridiculous if the car behind was allowed to tap the car in front like that. Ferrari was penalized at LeMans for that move during the last few hours. In any racing series PER is penalized.
Who was at blame in Brazil 2019 according to you, Charles or Seb?
That's a completely different situation... LEC moved inside and actually never closed off VET, the racing line is on the right side of the track there, not left or cutting through. VET was attempting to complete the pass by closing off LEC and forcing him to break and not lounge on him like he did in T1. What was the requirement for LEC here? Stop the car on the sideline and step out?

The 2 situations couldn't be more different except that they touched in the same place of the respective cars.

The title fight is over barring any Max DNFs. Norris has gained less than 5 points since Miami or something like that ? He's running out of races.

I’m a Mclaren fan and I could recognize this despite all the hype. If anyone remembers, Lando even lucked into that with a well timed yellow. Oscar was winning the race and the yellow came out after he pitted but before Lando did.

That’s all this battle has been, media hype,
to keep people tuning in. That’s how these pundits and talking heads get paid, be carnival barkers and get the views. It really hasn’t been that close since Miami.

At this point the real fight is for P2 between Leclerc, Piastri, Norris, and even Sainz (?)

Lando will still win WDC if he wins every remaining race with fastest lap if Max finishes P2. Based on recent form, Max P2 in every race seems less likely than Lando winning every race

Last post from me on the topic:

https://www.fia.com/sites/default/files ... r%2011.pdf
From this point and throughout the incident, neither driver steered erratically, and
indeed both kept their steering very neutral.

The Stewards checked the driving line of the drivers on pervious laps. Sainz was on
or close to his normal racing line, which forms a slight angle away from the right hand
wall
. From the exit to the point of contact he move approximately one car width further
away from the wall. Perez moved approximately half a car width further away from the
same wall, being more parallel to the right hand wall.

It was thus apparent that while ahead, and having the right to drive his line, Sainz did
move slightly towards a car that he had limited vision of. At the same time, there was
nothing unusual about Perez’ line, but he could have done more to avoid the car that
he had better view of
.
As I noted.
