Yes, the picture that I linked shows the 4 DRS zones. I was not disputing it. There are still only 3 detection points. I assume that means the 4th uses the same detection point as the 3rd.

Another change that the drivers can look ahead to dealing with is the result of a resurfacing job carried out in several areas.

Tyre supplier Pirelli has detailed the track has been relayered between Turn 3 and 9, 10 and 12, and 14 and 17, which should provide a “smoother surface”, according to the Italian marque.

An easy 1-2 McLaren if drivers don't mess up Q3, SF24 won't be a match on a damp track, the car is too gentle on tyres in Q
Singapore is hot and humid though, so they may end up having a slightly easier time than usual, should it end up being a wet race.

McLaren is the favourite no matter what. Ferrari performed at 99% perfection in Baku race with Leclerc and they lost to McLaren in one braking zone and that was it
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Then assuming it's a dry race, Ferrari should be even more likely to win than in Baku, since overtaking on track in Singapore is nearly impossible without a massive pace delta.

Ferrari SHOULD be good in quali here if it's dry, if they start on pole, they're likely to win.

Also let's not forget that Ferrari had comfortably the fastest car in Baku and only lost out due to a questionable overcut call and a stupid mistake from Leclerc during the warmup phase. If you can sit within a second of the driver in front for 30-something laps before your tyres give up, you have a pretty massive pace delta.

Wild prediction :
1 Ferrari , 1 Mercedes, 1 Redbull on the podium.
Both McLarens will take each other out (double DNF), and injure the other Ferrari and other Mercedes.

Realistic prediction :
2 Mclarens and 1 Ferrari on the podium. Mercedes in 4/5/6 places. Redbull 7th and 8th.

I'm not convinced Ferrari had "comfortably" the fastest car on the grid. Leclerc was comfortably fastest on the S, and was fastest on the M, but McLaren was very quick on the H. Ferrari had trouble getting the Hards in the right window, and just didn't have the same pace as McLaren.

But yeah, I can see Ferrari being strong here. My optimistic prediction is 1. LEC, 2. PIA... I think we're witnessing the start of an incredible driver battle for the next couple of years.

That is such a dumb circuit layout, even if they have DRS on every straight section it will not make it bearable.

Sainz was comfortably faster than Piastri on Hards and his gap to Leclerc on this track was 2-3 tenths a lap at least. It was a perfect storm for Ferrari with Leclerc, but they contributed to most of it

We must factor in that Piastri is probably the weakest driver in terms of race pace between the top teams (outside european Perez, of course :D ). But I agree Leclerc Ferrari was clearly the fastest package in Baku.

Unless you have over 0.6s delta and significant top speed advantage track position is absolutely king. Dirty air, with these small gaps, is a killer for your tyres and therefore pace.

How long until Singapore becomes first circuit where you can use DRS wherever you want? 😂

This circuit should have had this layout since day 1! It makes racing so much better! I remember looking at it through Google Maps years ago and wondering why they don’t just go straight from Turn 14 to Turn 16!

Meanwhile Red Bull was the fastest by over a tenth through the low speed stuff in Baku! The Singapore bumps though may be their biggest problem this time around…

We desperately need a Norris 1st - Verstapen DNF for this championship to come alive at last! Otherwise I don’t see anyone catching Max anytime soon! Not to mention that Red Bull will bring updates in Austin and probably they’ll be back in business…
