Lando looks comfortable. He didn't do a second run on this set. Piastri will use it for a few more runs to get experience.

Yeah, no setup changes mentioned, straight to high fuel for him. He looks on it here.
Leclerc couldn't take it on a second push lap, perhaps track evolution is reaching the limit now.

I could be wrong but it looked like Ferrari loses pace in S3 - maybe they chew out their tires?

Lando can take both kerbs in the last chicane (16-17). It seems like no other car can do that. Ferrari can take the first kerb, but they can't take the second it seems. At least not at the moment. I suspect that's where they're losing most of the laptime compared to Lando. It's pretty close everywhere else.

Amazing lap from Lando in FP2, for the moment, 1:30:7,. For the moment seems Lando vs Leclerc. Oscar too far behind (+0.75). Verstappen is nowhere (+1.3).
Yeah it's unfortunate, but Oscar is on the back foot. Hopefully he will have time to review today what Lando is doing and come back stronger tomorrow.
Also Max seems on the back foot vs Perez. Strange what is happening with Max since Spain. Or more correct, what is happening with RB20 since then. So complaining about McLaren RW or drop a "new" livery for couple of grams when you are around 1 second slower is blow minding.

Dr.Helmut Marko admitted that Red Bull constant whining gave results. They are now focusing on Mclaren's front wing.
Fair play to him. People have done the sane about Red Bull.
I would say shame on them. Instead of fixing their car they try to stop others woth underhanded tactics.

I wouldn't worry too much about Oscar, this seems a fairly typical pattern. I think he probably runs a bit heavier than Lando in fp1/2

They did nothing that any other team wouldn't do. The moment there's anything shady going on, no team in F1 will stand still and they will protest it. Would you think the same of McLaren if RedBull's rear wing was doing that and McLaren protested it?

Good for McLaren for trying it and they already got benefit out of it, but it doesn't matter anymore.

If Lando wants to win the WDC, he will win this race as a statement win.
Fingers crossed for Sunday.

There is a lot that Lando needs to do right before winning the race in Sunday.

Step by step. It wont be easy.

It definitely will not be easy.
But mentally, he might have turned the page for the better - towards one of a world champion.
Let's see in the races going forward.

Emag there is a difference about an innovation and something that was already illegal. In this situation Mclaren's rear wing was a legal innovation according to the FIA as the DAS was though I dont know why Mclaren is removing it while the DAS was used for a whole season. Red Bull's asymmetrical braking was already illegal as a similar system existed in 1997 and 1998 in Williams and Mclaren. Red Bull kept that system for two years.

No rule was changed for either this or DAS. Both were illegal from introduction, just the FIA being the usual incompetent selves.

They were never illegal according to the FIA. Its already confirmed. Mclaren came to an agreement after negotiations to do changes as long as others with same flex wings do the same.
