Anyone can get depression, I hope this news inspires others to talk about mental health.
Signing for Ferrrari isn't going to help and may made it worst. Tifosi can be very unforgiving
Can be? They are.

In case anyone still comes here for Mercedes team news:

Explaining how Mercedes is currently filling the extended gap ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Allison said: "We'll be trying to figure out how to mitigate what ailed us [in Singapore], how to figure out how to make the tyres run better on these sorts of overheating circuits.

"We'll be also doing quite a lot of work to bring our last upgrade of the season together."

Confirming "a fairly substantial set of new clothes" for the car in Austin, Allison added: "We hope that will give us a decent weekend there.

"So we've got to deliver all that and get ourselves ready for these last few races of the year.

James Allison is one of the tire magicians of Formula One. I'm sure they will figure it out.

Indeed. Brave for him to admit it and like you say hopefully it helps other people suffering from depression to seek help. I am surprised though that he hasn't had much success with treatment as I thought sports psychology was heavily used by all top sports people so you'd think he'd have some help there.

I'd imagine any current mental health challanges are a result of the immense pressure his job, celebrity status and desire to win brings. Linking them to childhood bullying (although a lovely message to send) seems a stretch.

Talking about it is nice though regardless of the reason.

Was reviewing the financial statements of the UK-based teams released this week for the year 2023, and it’s quite amusing to see how much Toto and co. are outperforming the competition in this area

Mercedes made over £83 million in profit last year, while McLaren reported £12.9 million, and Red Bull managed a measly £1.2 million

Is the lack of profit for Mclaren and Red Bull due to their investment in new infrastructure?

May be. But I believe it is somewhat capped due to infrastructure investments being part of the F1 Budget cap.
I seem to recall an interview with Vowles (2023?) in which he explained that limitation for the current Williams' infrastructure investments.
(Williams had/has the money buts needs to spread the costs over several years. He asked FIA/the other teams for clarification, about counting such costs to the cap)

So, RBR's and McLaren's profits may be off, but not by much I would say.
80Mio$ profit for MGP ... are magnificent.
No chances for the driver championship, but 2nd in the constructors ... with these kind of profits!

They'll have 100mil+ if you take Hamilton's salary out for next season.

With no wins or championships the staff bonus/incentive scheme hit the buffers ..... allegedly :?

Some considerable saving there.

And that will almost double next year for Merc after Hamilton leaves. :D

Nope it will be worse. Lewis like any other sporting legend attracts obscene amounts of cash to his team. If he is paid 50 million quite likely he attracts 150 million. His leaving mgiht actually be a net 100 million less for the team!

Can you name one sponsor that is there because of Lewis? Other than TH that replaced the previous apparel partner BOSS.

Puma have departed too, due to LH’s shoe collaboration. It’s widely reported that Merc’s partners are looking elsewhere, due to lack of performance, and the loss of LH.

Having said that, Merc have agreed the deal with Adidas, but that’s through luck/timing really. Adidas have been in decline, have lost the German national football sponsorship, so have thrown themselves into F1.
