Verstappen was faster than the Mercedes and Norris is Q2 too. Maybe RB20 is better to drive overall, at least for Max.
guys....it's always better to have a short look at the data first, everyone knows what f1-tempo is. Norris had a second lap in SQ2 where he was improving massively but aborted the lap in the end to hide pace. He himself was much slower in SQ3 than himself in SQ2 where he had much slower tire and slower track. Well well well...have we already seen something like that from the choker Lando??? Was it in Miami?
The fact that Mercedes came out so early in SQ3 tell us they were very confident in their pace on soft fueled for one fast lap only.

Start with George inside will be a nightmare, I can easily see Max pushed wide into T1 and losing many places.

Let's hope for a repeat of last year's start.

It's just shows that others had to over push to have a chance at pole, thus they made mistakes. Verstappen's car was so stable he got pole comfortably, without over doing anything. Ofc Max is the best driver of the grid, that's why it was possible, but it also shows that Red Bull is improving with their upgrades. They aimed to solve stability issues with the new floor, and it worked.

Redbull now seems to me to have a flexier front wing, finally.
Why do you think that?

F1-Tempo doesn't work properly for aborted laps. Norris was 1 tenths faster only after S2, and slowed down right after:

Lap #1: 25.416 - 37.398 - 30.643
Lap #2: 25.372 - 37.322 - /

If you look at F1-Tempo only, you see an improvement which didn't exist.

Still amazes me that they don't swap the grid slots around because P2 always gets the jump on P1 on race day in recent years 2021, 2022, 2023 just seems to have more grip off the line.

Looking at replays from his pole lap and comparing with other onboard footage from this year, this is purely visual feeling.

For example from Japan:

And then yesterday:

so, it was still and improvement given how much grip a tire set loses on such demanding track as COTA after first push lap.
