Mixed weather, resurfaced track, sprint weekend

We've had two "weird" weekends in a row here. Could be chaotic again if we get some weather.

Brazil always brings excitement and unexpected results.

With that in mind, McLaren should be good in S1 and S3. Ferrari should be good in S2.

If it ends up being a rain affected race or quali I could see Verstappen or Hamilton taking an unexpected win (assuming Max doesn't take an engine penalty). Norris and Leclerc aren't great wet drivers after all. If it's dry I expect the usual Ferrari or McLaren dominance.

You need to read better...he said they are not great drivers when they are wet. You can not just read track conditions into this.

Car wise : cakewalk for McLaren and Ferrari over the rest
Driving style wise : LeClerc, Verstappen, Hamilton, Norris, Alonso, hold advantage over others. However, only LeClerc and Norris have the car to be consistently fast over a race distance.

And hence that's what I expect - LeClerc v Norris

McLaren should have a massive advantage here IMO. I don't think Ferrari is as strong in the medium radius corners that dominate this track(they will be strong in Vegas and Abu Dhabi) and Red Bull's race pace has been fairly atrocious lately.

Wet or dry, Lando has plenty of opportunity to gain points on Max here.

My view might be a bit outdated and based too much on Russia 2021. I do however feel that Norris (and McLaren) has a pretty poor grasp of the crossover point in mixed conditions. In hindsight however Norris is pretty rapid in wet conditions.

Leclerc isn't very good in the wet though. He isn't awful, but he certainly isn't someone I'd consider to be a great driver in the wet and I'd say he's much weaker in the wet than on a dry track.

The high-load, medium radius fast corners should help Ferrari keep their tyre temps in the right range though. My gut feeling is that McLaren will be better here however. I feel at this point both Ferrari and McLaren have cars that are pretty much great anywhere though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's very close or if my expectations are proven false.

F2 2018 Norris was mighty in the Hungaroring wet/dry race.

Sprint Quali looks to be dry, Sprint might be light showers, but looks like race qualifying and race will be wet.

The wet quali and race will make for an interesting weekend.

In terms of WDC I would expect wet to be the nightmare for RedBull still:
- Ferrari out of the game. They were nowhere most of the time in Stone, only at some points they got the tires to work.
- Ham back in the game.
- McLaren mighty with drivability.
