And lost the battle. It answered your own question
Of course he lost the battle against utterly dominant Ferrari of Leclerc, that was up to 0.4s a lap faster, closer to 0.8s towards the end of each stint. It shouldn't have been a battle whatsoever, if not for Ferrari reactive indecisive strategy calls, always stopping a lap later on a day/track where undercut was unbelievably powerful. They shouldn't have ever met on the track after the first 5 laps.
It's funny by the way when people use that Bahrain battle as an example of Leclerc's brilliance or even superiority as a racer, when in reality no other driver than Max wouldn't be even in that battle fighting for the lead having such car deficit. The undercut was so powerful that day, if Leclerc stopped on the same laps for new tires, let alone a lap earlier on every occasion, he would've been leading by 15-20+ seconds even before the late SC, which represents totally dominant car and pace advantage.

So, what question did it answer?

i find it odd that Marko can be critical to all his three drivers but Max even though he is playing ping pong with his fellow rivals. Apparently yuki is feeling pressure from Lawson but that doesn't extend to Max although Norris is very quick and driving the fastest car. Lawson pace was nothing to shout about he is should easily dispatch stroll. I think he need a year to be ready and redbull are realizing that hence the noise about calapinto who a rookie is still too.

Let's hope only the ICE is enough and other components are fine. A blown TC and bye bye to the title.

It would be interesting to know which components of PU nr 3 (Canada) were undamaged

These must have been (apart from the ICE) all the other components otherwise they would never have been able to keep up
the next 4 race weekends, which also included 2 sprint races.

I hope so, the initial report was that the problem was on the ERS/electrical side.

Well, this man is a steward AGAIN this weekend:
.
Johnny Herbert: 'Penalty we gave Verstappen won't stop him pushing Norris off track again'

October 30th 2024
Max Verstappen clashed with Lando Norris in Mexico because he wanted a Ferrari 1-2 finish at the expense of his title rival, says Johnny Herbert, who was one of the stewards who handed 20sec of penalties to the Red Bull driver, who he believes is prepared to push Norris off the track again

Verstappen and Norris are set to clash again in Sao Paulo

Max Verstappen was in a “horrible mindset” and fully deserved the 20 seconds of penalties he received in the Mexico City Grand Prix after his “over-the-top” driving, says Johnny Herbert, who was one of the stewards judging the incident last weekend.

But the former British Grand Prix winner believes that the sanction will have no effect on Verstappen’s driving style, and that the reigning world champion will attack and defend just as aggressively at this weekend’s race in Sao Paulo; at a circuit that’s no stranger to track limit and overtaking wrangles.

“Those penalties in Mexico won’t stop Max Verstappen from pushing Lando Norris off the track in the future,” Herbert told sports betting firm Action Network. “I don’t see Verstappen’s driving changing because the number one goal is to stop Norris from closing the gap for the drivers’ championship. We potentially still have a lot of interesting racing coming our way.”

“The whole intention of Verstappen [in Mexico] was to try to let Ferrari get the one-two finish,” said Herbert. “I think that’s definitely what Verstappen intended and tried to achieve, I understand why he did it but I don’t agree with it, I don’t think many people do.

BTW, did he gave Leclerc a penalty too for saying the F word during the Press Conference?
You mean the guy who never drove for McLaren but did win races for Red Bull Racing in its former guise as Stewart Racing?

That guy?

Truly repulsive and biased language from Herbert. He's basically saying they'll hand out a penalty to Max whatever happens, which is exactly what I pointed out to with their bs T8 penalty decision.

"Max Verstappen was in a “horrible mindset” ... " What the hell does a steward have to do with assessing any driver's state of mind and making a non-educated analysis of it?!?
19 out of the current 20 drivers want a change to the rules to clamp down on what Max has been doing.

Pretty much every single former driver in the grid not employed by Red Bull think Max overstepped the line.

But sure, nobodies on the Internet know better 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Don't be naive mate, nobody cares about those rules other than McLaren and Mercedes drivers right now. Though I seriously doubt even Piastri trully cares, he's a true racer who asks for no room and gives no room.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Of course G. Russell in particular is eager to change the rules he violated himself less than 2 weeks ago, which he was penalized for. Crikey! Rules were wrong. How dared they even!? We need to change those bad rules that penalize good drivers.

No Idea what does that even mean. I thought former drivers were called former because they are not on the grid anymore. But I hope you know better anyways.
