Damn. That was lucky. It looks like the car is much much better on inters than on the wets. Verstappen looked the opposite, on the inters he couldn't really put down a proper lap, on the last lap that was red flagged he was two seconds slower than other cars in S1. Maybe he wouldn't have made it even without the the red flag. He didn't put a better lap on his first inter run either.
Now we need to capitalize in Q3. Let's get two cars high up, get a big haul of points against Ferrari and then see what happens with Verstappen after the race ends.

If it starts to rain we might see NOR start P10. They didn't look great on wets.

Why would the McLaren be that much better on inters than on wets? Could the setup be that different? It looks like Red Bull is bad on inters but good on wets. McLaren the opposite.

The dark arts of car setup determine how the cars works it's tyres.
Pray that the track stays on intermediate conditions. We are better in them. In these first few laps both Lando and Oscar have to be in top front positions before the rain gets heavier.
Looks like Max was just unlucky with the crashes. On his first lap he had Aston in the wall in S1 and he backed off (or at least looked like he did, there was a snap of oversteer for Max as well).
