This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Russell saying the W15 is the most inconsistent car they've had in a long time, also apparently the floors their bringing to Brazil are a slightly modified version of the one Lewis used in COTA/Mexico
That’s consistent with what I posted from Toto above regarding new specs for both cars this weekend.
ah, missed that
Oh no worries mate - just pointing out it's good to have a corroborating source as well. Thanks for posting.
There's no doubt in my mind Merc have locked him out of certain technical knowledge and even more so as there no fighting for anything in the WCC. That onboard lap was terrible. Couldn't trust it on entry or exit. If you think Ham has deteriorated this much within a year then your on something. He's been fast in the wet for years, He's in a brazil, brazil tribute helmet, On a wet brazil track and a performance happens like that happens. GR is the main guy thats all they care about right now. Lewis is a testing mule.
“And that’s part of the game, is being able to be adaptive, and we’ve got this new car – I don’t know how it’s going to handle, hopefully she’s great.”
HAM was constantly complaining about the rears having no grip and there are at least 4 factors involving that issue:
- tyre pressure too high
- tyre temps not in the window
- not enough load on the rear axle hence a 1-stop strategy race
- the car was raised too much hence lower DF overall
- the mix of all the above reasons ...
He should start the race at the pit-lane hence an overhaul of the entire car setup, IMHO ...
Exaxtly. The rain is literally what won him silverstone and spa. He has no issue with the rain. The team raised the cars due to the suspension literally hurting their drivers backs. Therefore downforce is gone. Maybe George has a stronger back and lowered his car less, but trying to say Lewis forgot how to drive in rain since Spa qualifying is just silly
