Lawson created more problems for Verstappen than Piastri
You are not taking into consideration the pressure of both championships, a fight Mclaren is currently in for the first time in over a decade.....
It'll be interesting to see in the telemetry if that is the issue. Given that drag only really becomes a problem at over 250kph I'm not sure how much it held us back. Problem vs Verstappen is that the driver was able to find more grip. His overtakes were because he found the limit in the corners when others went round like Bambi.proteus wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:06Great job with "they are the best" when they win and "they are the worst" when they loose. You have no knowledge of what was happening on the track, the cars were obviously set with too much drag and couldnt overtake, red flag sealed the deal. Except from Max and Alpines, everybody else made mistakes during the race.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:00I am dissapointed to Lando and Oscar. I also don't think he deserves the WDC if he is losing from Ocon, Gasly and Rusell.
Next time think trough before you post.
There's a lot of learning to be done all through the team really. I think in a way they have been a bit cursed with being better than they expected to be this year, having to learn while being very much in the spotlight.Watto wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:08Agree.Slahinki wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:00Both Lando and Oscar have a lot of work to do in the off-season.Watto wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 19:58
Agree.
I think it there wasn't the train of drivers Max would have overtaken Charles pretty quick but slip stream vs slip stream. Held him up a little.
I don't think Lando still has to learn a little on being more agressive in overtaking. Poor starts etc.
But I think he has improved there this year too. Just not quite enough
I think Oscar best and worst is still not quite there. But will learn
Lando I think despite the critisium has improved quite a bit this year. I think last week his move on Max around the outside was a Max like move was agressive and knew Max would push him wide I think he had in his mind he could bail on T5 before the corner and claim he was avoiding a collision, but he still gets caught out too often, letting Max turn the inside on the first lap corner - yes Max peobably pushing the limits there but he opens himself to it, Piastri too a few races ago catching him unaware. But I think they will all learn
I wonder if as FittingMechanic said above somewhere, did McLaren choose the wrong rear wing. I think Lando was faster then Ferrari and Mercedes but too slow in the straight and was never really a change didn't help
Verstsppen was godlike to be honest. But Norris vs. Russell it was no gain trough straights, but massive gains in corners. He said himself he is too slow. On the other hand it could be traction.mwillems wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:14It'll be interesting to see in the telemetry if that is the issue. Their performance today has nothing to do with the pressure, just poor execution from all parts of the team - bad car setup, bad start, bad race pace, a lot of mistakes from both drivers.bauc wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:12You are not taking into consideration the pressure of both championships, a fight Mclaren is currently in for the first time in over a decade.....
It will not mater as much if we do not learn the lesions from this year, too much games inside the team, too much hesitation, strtagey mistakes... ect.....Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:16Next year we need a car that will be top from the start and not wait 6 races to become relevant.
It's just how you convert the points and Lando threw away a lot of points in a WDC fight. He's got talent coming out his ears, but he's not able to.deliver consistently high level performances, same thing I've been saying to you since last year.Ben1980 wrote: ↑03 Nov 2024, 20:11Piastri wiped out a RB, that was generally worse than anything Lando did.
