I feel the chance to have MM in the factory team is of significant importance and would be to any factory in all honesty.

There's obviously finite time to do this with his career, competitiveness and desire understandably being more limited now than a much younger rider just entering this class. It's an opportunity I agree they, Ducati, shouldn't have missed, even with the outcome it has forced with their other riders.

The mix up I feel will make for a determined and hyper competitive field next year with many now wanting to prove their worth to even greater degree. With EB on KTM and second year for PA there too, then JM influence in Aprillia, there's some good racing to come.

Obserervers often reference older times as being better, for whatever reason. I've seen enough of the good times in Moto-GP & 500 class before it, to know that I'm right in the middle of watching a very good period of the class, machines and riders right now.

More suspicious of the next rule change disturbing this level in reality for me.
Really great insight. Thank you for that.

Probably pre dates most currently watching Moto-gp .... I feel it's this rider that really lit it up for pushing tyres past their limits and showed the way to the speed and riding we see now

absolute pinnacle of an era :D

Pre dating him was Yvonne Duhamel, French Canadian and really in the relm of Gille Villeneuve for out there vehicle handling, similar in spectacular performance and lack of championships, but oh so very good to watch.

That was a good race, Australian GP, leaving no doubt why Ducati chose MM over the others for next year.

2025 is going to be exciting and still under the current rules.

Now the other contenders will have to prove what level they're at, MM missing these last few years has let everyone off lightly.

Marc just destroyed the field this Sunday! Unbelievable performance considering the start he had…imagine how far in front he would have ended up had he led from the first corner…

I still think there’s nobody close to his level! The guy is now becoming the greatest athlete (not just rider) of all time! No other athlete has ever come back from life threatening, career ending injuries to beat the next generation while also using older equipment compared to his rivals…

There's a saying that even if an elephant sits down, it's taller than a donkey. That's the situation with Marc and the rest of the riders. There's just nobody that can come close to his level of talent. He's is beating them with a year old bike. Every weekend he is getting better hold of the Ducati. It should be vindicating for Ducati that they signed him and not other riders for next year.

Crazy that Pecco will have won 10 races - at least (to Martin’s 3) - and still not win the title. In fairness, it’ll also be the third year in a row that the title is in jeopardy right until the end because of so many crashes.

Still, the narrative that Martin’s won it on a Saturday is bogus because the amount of sprint races won is pretty equal - it’s the amount of crashes Pecco’s had (especially on Saturday but also Sunday) that will have decided it.

Sepang has always been a superb track for MotoGP racing and it once again proved it, atleast in the first few laps on Sunday when the title protagonists slugged it out. It was a thrilling display of duel, until when Pecco took lead. I was hoping it would go on for the full distance, but it just wasn't.

Indeed, Pecco crash way too much.

He´s lucky to be more prone to crash on saturdays than sundays as the points loses are more limited, but with 8 crashes in total, that´s way too much

Wisful thinking

We were lucky to watch those first awesome laps, normally title contenders are not that aggressive with just 2 GPs to go. It was great to watch togh :D

Just like 2015, Marquez targets the Italian so another Spaniard can win the title. This time both brothers did it though
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I really liked what happened in 2015 though. Rossi shouldn't have antagonized Marc the way he did in the middle part of the season and more specifically, in Malaysia. I thought Rossi losing was perfectly deserved. A more friendlier approach with Marc would have helped Rossi, but he was too full of himself to understand the damage Marc would cause. On the other hand, Pecco is a silly rider with so many mistakes all thorugh the season. Having the fastest bike and factory development, he is making so many mistakes and losing the title all by himself, no one to blame. If this year was painful for him, next year is going to be even more dreadful with Marc on the other bike.

(here we go again :D). I don't understand how manipulating a sporting result on track can be compared to some words outside of the track. Marquez even made sure that Danny on the last race was not able to be ahead of Lorenzo if I remember correctly.

Marc was racing on the track and Jorge was ahead controlling the pace. That's exactly what happened. Perfectly legal. He didn't step out of bike to go and mess up Rossi's bike, which obviously would have been illegal or "kick" Rossi while racing. That's illegal for sure, worthy of a black flag and a permanent ban on racing.
