Have McLaren with it's big commitment to multiple rear and beam wing combinations have what it takes on the long, flat out straights of Las Vegas???

Is it another mad Saturday night into Subday Morning race?
No, because Vegas is a saturday race.
Well Sunday for me. And I think its Saturday night into early Sunday LV time.
Finally a nice time slot for NZ and Australia! 7PM and 5PM on Sunday is as good as it gets after the misery of northern hemisphere domination. Seems odd that Vegas choose such a late night start time - unless you've been to the strip and experienced their crazy lifestyle! I guess they are in keeping with that hedonistic thing. Good luck to the McLaren team for a crucial piece of the 2024 WCC puzzle.

No, because Vegas is a saturday race.
It starts at 10pm on the Saturday evening in Vegas and the session narrowly misses going into Sunday with an official cut off time of midnight. It's another mad start time leading into the Sunday morning, as "the race" also includes the podiums and interviews that many people watch, going well into the early hours of Sunday morning. I don't think he means the race solely as the on track part of the session, but the general race coverage, certainly that's how I read it.
All I recalled from ladt year was it being midnight with cars on track.

I think any race that could feasibly be running as the days change, can be classed as mad.

But 6am in the UK. That's OK.
Last year had the same schedule, race was between 10 and midnight, don't think it was late. But even if it finishes bang on midnight, I think your original description is apt.

Just checked, race finished at 11.34pm last year, podium was on till after midnight so I think like many, you'll refer to "the race" as the complete coverage.

I'm trying to remember the reasons, and think it's just about when they can close the road down. And it's then better to be coming back after a late Saturday into Sunday over Sunday into Monday.

( I still think it's mad) but, sometimes mad is good in small doses.

Fine by me, I'm on early starts all week, so my body clock will be used to it 😂

It's Saturday night, rather than Sunday, in Vegas because if they did Sunday night then it would be Monday morning for the majority of the world....where the majority of fans lives.

I'm sure I read somewhere as well that they also felt more Americans would watch on a Saturday night.
