Couldn't have been farther than truth.GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑23 Nov 2024, 11:31Typically, the better George does on a Saturday is the worse he does on a Sunday.
Since when did overtaking become harder in these regs?GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑23 Nov 2024, 11:31If this track proves to be like every other track where overtaking is supposed to happen under these new regs (I.e. overtaking is hard with massive long straights AND drs) he's probably in with a good chance of keeping everyone behind.
He’s never converted a pole into a win, and generally goes backwards on a Sunday, due to him outperforming the car on a Saturday. You clearly don’t watch much F1mendis wrote: ↑23 Nov 2024, 14:32Couldn't have been farther than truth.GrizzleBoy wrote: ↑23 Nov 2024, 11:31Typically, the better George does on a Saturday is the worse he does on a Sunday.
How many poles has Lewis converted into wins in the same period that Russell has at Mercedes?DGP123 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2024, 14:44He’s never converted a pole into a win, and generally goes backwards on a Sunday, due to him outperforming the car on a Saturday. None, but thats besides the point you're trying to make, and besides anyone else's point you're trying to rebutt.
So all of his wins are from not pole, doesn't that mean he is better on Sundays?DGP123 wrote: ↑23 Nov 2024, 14:44He’s never converted a pole into a win, and generally goes backwards on a Sunday, due to him outperforming the car on a Saturday. No pole needed indeed. In some occasions, teammate's DSQ will be needed.maygun wrote:So all of his wins are from not pole, doesn't that mean he is better on Sundays?
Unfair comparison
The car is just strange since they put those new updates on. It looked similar to Austin when hams car just suddenly snap oversteers mid corner without much throttle input. From the replays it looked and sounded like a linear acceleration mid corner and then suddenly the rear let's go....Hammerfist wrote: ↑23 Nov 2024, 10:45The rear just gave out on Hamilton. Looked like he might have been too greedy on the throttle. The first mistake in the banker lap looked like a braking error. I dunno. He just sucks at qualifying now. It started in the middle of last season.
George delivered the lap when needed. He is a supreme qualifier. Can he hold on to the lead now? We shall see.
When is this 40 yr old man, winner of 7 world titles, going to muster enough humility and courage to say a simple "Yes, it was my mistake" instead of a contrived "it didn't work, I tried it didn't come off", which has a hint of 'it was something beyond driver skill, but I was the guy who deserved pole instead of that guy'. He would make a good CEO-type or a politician - a wordsmith.Asked to talk through his session, and how it all unravelled, Hamilton said: “Yeah, it didn’t work when it mattered. I tried, but it didn’t come off. I should have been on pole. At least I’ve got pace, which is a good showing over the weekend and that’s the positive to take from it.”
On whether that positive gives him confidence for the race, he replied: “Not really. I think the race is kind of done. Obviously the win is out of the question… A great job from George.”

“But ultimately I didn’t put the laps together.”
