Let's face it guys. Formula 1 is an extremely demanding sport that requires razor sharp conditioning of body and mind. A 26 year old should have the advantage over a 40 year old, whose faculties have been degrading since 34 years old... (says cience!).

After that, it's just how much an athlete can slow the degradation. I guess we are at that "cross-over point" where a once "elite" driver like Lewis is going downhill as another quick driver like George passes him on the way up (to becoming elite). Of course a Lewis degraded by 15% to 20% of his peak is going to be somewhat easy pickings for top qualifier like George! It's nothing to be a shamed about.

Would be interesting to see how an 80% of peak Lewis compares against Charles Leclerc next year. Yes. 80% is my estimate. It is what I feel. You are free to disagree.

I felt that they boxed him too early in the first stint and could have gone further and put in some decent times. The data doesn't agree, he was way slower than Russell at the end of the first stint, a longer overcut would have put him even further behind.
Here we go again. When Lewis screws up his weekend in qualifying, there must be a conspiracy when he couldn't beat George in the race.

Where is the conspiracy, what initial feeling was wrong. Russell was much faster on the couple of laps before he boxed than Lewis was before he boxed for the first time, there was basically no Hammer Time in him at that point.

It’s most likely a load of crap. It’s a 1 second clip slowed right down. I was intrigued at first but if you look he is braking, head moved forward as it does wheels do move also under heavy braking. I would still like to see more footage and a lot longer and see footage in Lewis’ car too. But as the saying goes F1 is all about cheating the rules finding any advantage on your competitors and not get caught. It’s the name of the game. Finding those grey areas of the rules perhaps if this is an actual thing and an advantage Mercedes have found it’s up to F1 to see if it is legal or not. I am interested to find out more.

Their steering wheel has done that since 2021.

Helmut Marko made commentary on it that same year with a similar accusation, but it was ultimately deemed to be nothing. There's obviously some play with the cannon plug as it's a spring loaded mechanism as part of the push fit.

By that I mean the collar will allow some forward and rearward movement of the steering wheel assembly without compromising the electrical connection to the column receptacle.

There are a lot of “F1 content creators” spreading nonsense for engagement on social media.

X is toxic, hell I've just seen the LH cult attacking Toto because he stated Russell was managing his pace in Vegas.

I’m fairly certain the F1 teams would pick up on that sooner than a random clickbaiting Instagram account if there was anything in it.

So it's fair game for saying X-driver has a cult now? OK then... seems to be allowed by the moderators!

Yes it is very fair game, unless you are part of that toxic portion of the fanbase you will know what I mean. And that's not saying all Lewis Hamilton fans are like that, just a well known few on X.
