did anyone improve other than Max on the last lap?
I know Leclerc did, but not enough to improve position.

Verstappen will probably be starting p4 though thanks to the blocking? Or it was on the outlap so might go unpunished idk

That was an outlap for George, just melodramatic.

I agree they should influence. But is fans have been asking for rule changes like change the order of sprint and qualifying to remove parque ferme after sprint.

I wouldn’t dismiss fans opinion because it’s the fans’. I would dismiss if it’s a bad idea.

I am also expecting (Well hoping to see, but I a bit expect it as well) that Redbull in the hands of Max can fight for the win here.
Well! :D

2021 record beaten.
Honestly, I expected a little bit more than a 1:20.5, but still very fast anyway

But they flattened the curbs. A good time set but it is not the same track anymore.

Track limits were not a thing in 2021 and if you look at Hamilton's 2021 lap you will see just how much kerb they were using. Kerbs are less aggressive now, but the drivers just can't use as much track as they could in 2021.

Russell made a large mistake at T4, Verstappen got the final corner wrong. Take away both mistakes and they end up about equal

Thanks for that insight. They made big gains this year, that’s for sure.

Just 2 cars in front of Russel on an outlap with the same speed. Then Russel came barging through full throttle…
…not smart to keep squealing. Stewards have an iron memory…

There was no mistake from verstappen, this is just what the car can do. RB20 was crap in final corner in every lap this weekend and it didn't change in qualifying. If you look at Verstappen's best 3 laps you'll see his fastest T16 is on the pole lap:
