Doesn't change that the car has already been launched. I doubt Newey is involved in production. As long as the other 49 look identical to the first one.
It will just be marketing fluff that he needs to do as the designer. Even if it's just a reworked Valkyrie.
He said he has work to do on it till it hits production. He said it hits production at the end of February. So it may have launched but the design isn't finished.
What should he say publicly...
It's like asking Dan Fallows how much fun he has currently at AM Technologies. With his paycheck I guess he won't say you the truth. He takes the big money until his contract expires and then will look for a new job.
He is first influence will be on the 26 car, end of the story. But let suppose he is "secretly" helping Aston, Why he should influence the 25 car ? Realistically it is a miracle if Aston will occasionally fight for a podium. The mid mid field battle will be very interesting but why we should fight for it ? it does not matter next year if we are 4th or 7th in the championship.
Aston wants him to work on AMR26. Of course the sooner they manage to start the better it is but there is no need to waste efforts on the AMR25 as it will be the last year of this regulation era.
Despite that with the new simulator, and the arriving new tunnel will help the development of the AMR25. So if we manage to produce a good car this winter they should be able to develop it better during the season, and only one good package will change everything.
